Default pioneer double din install

so i've been trying to install a double din and followed the instructions here: http://web.me.com/orbitalpunk/orbitalpunk/Avicd3.html

my harness looks exactly like the one that he has in the second picture of that guide.

I've been using a single din with aftermarket speakers + sub + amp. It worked perfectly. No issues.

I disconnected the single din and tried installing the new head unit with the new harness as well. The problem is I can't seem to get the head unit turned on. My amp isn't turning on either.

I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. I grounded the wires like I was supposed to from the guide.

Can you guys help me figure out what I may be missing? or what I may need to take a look at?

Make sure your ground has a good connection to bare metal. That's really all I can think of besides checking your power cord is plugged in lol

Cuz I would think it should turn on regardless if there's power and ground.

Hm. wouldn't the ground that I've been using be fine for the new install?

all aftermarket radios only need a few connections. yellow = 12v+ batt, red = 12v+ switched (key on), color pair = speakers, and black = 12v- ground. as long as all fuses are good the head unit should turn on. with an added am youl have to hook up RCA's and the blue wire to amp turm on. if it dont turn on check all your connections they should be soldered and shrink tubed, please dont just electrical tape your wires!

Make sure the fuses aren't blown first.. Then make sure that the black wire coming from the actual stereo is grounded to the cars metal and not the harness of the car... You can ground it using one of the stock screw locations...
