Default general question about 35th 2005 350z

Hello everyone i own a 35th anniversary 350z and i notice i have the navigation dvd drive behind my driver seat and when i turn on my car it loads but i dont have the navigation screen, how would i be able to check should i just tear the dash apart and check or is there a way i could check by using my vin to see if it was originally equipped with nav?

What is in the cubby location where the navi would be installed...is it cut up or have any holes? Or does it look completely stock?

I would think if it has the DVD drive it should have the navi unless the previous owner swapped it out for another cubby and modded it.

You can check with the VIN number from any Nissan dealership. Just call them. There should be no charge for this.

The cubby had bolts missing like it was messed around with thankfully this is my second 350z so I had some to spare, but the cubby looks the same it just doesn't have the little mat in it? Also thanks I will call the dealership and ask.

Look above your head to the left. Do you see the SRS airbag logo stitched into the headliner at the top front edge of the side window?

35th Zs bundled the Nav and the Side Curtain SFS together in one option.
It was the only orderable option other than manual/automatic and the color.

I called my dealership they said that there is no way they can check through the vin, but they said the can check the car out for free to see if it is compatible.

I'm not sure if that's true because I too have a 35th anniversary and have the srs curtain airbags stitched in but no nav system at all.

Hmm Im not sure what to tell you, my car has the Airbag but no dvd drive only an extra cubby and the compartment up front is nav free as well. I think the dealership is really the only one who can answer your questions 100%

1) That is where the stock navigation system goes, I'm not sure why you don't have it though? Did you buy your Z new or used?

2) You have a 2005 Ultra Yellow MT and you have Brembo Brakes and 18" wheels = 35th Anniversary

Sorry I misspoke. I pulled out the window sticker. I was sure they were bundled together in a package. I was wrong, they are listed separately. Sorry for any confusion.

There's no way to tell a 35th from the VIN.

These are the steps, but they are not 100%.

Coupe Only
Ultra Yellow, Black, or Silver
MT or Auto (if MT has Rev Up Engine)
Brembos
5 Spokes
Orange Stitching in Graphite Seats (on some colors could get orange seats, not all are graphite)
35th Floor Mats

The Z badges are supposed to be bronzed on the sides, but not all cars are this way. Mine are not.

If somebody swapped wheels, Brembos, seats, and added floor mats, you could "make" a 35th.

The one thing that I know of that not many people do is if you look at the Z emblem on the front fender on any other 350z it has a silver circle around it for the 35th anniversary the circle is more bronze but since its shiny you can't tell unless you look closely and purposefully at it. Also your floor mats should say 35th anniversary.

The bronze ring isn't 100% true. My rings aren't bronze, and others have noted the same thing. Plus I could show you the pictures from Nissan News I pulled down back in 2006 of the 35th where they aren't bronze either. https://my350z.com/forum/2003-2009-n...y-edition.html

The least known one is the orange stitching on graphite seats. Check out this guy's website and scroll down to the seat pics.
It became standard I believe in 2006 like the wheels did.

Funny this topic comes up at least once per year... :-)
