Default IDK if Bose or something else

OK guys idk whats wrong with my audio. Yes I have read the forums and tried some of the fixes to see if it was my bose amp, but they have not worked either.

So here is how it goes going down the road hit a bump sound either does one of these many things. Goes out on my right side or goes out on my left side. Goes out completely or kinda stays on, but sounds really muddy and crappy.

So tried just hitting things on the dash to see if there was a loose connection and nothing worked until I hit right on the left and right knee pads for the driver and passenger. Every time I hit there the sounds goes out or comes back in so strange. So I just want some opinions on what I should do and what you guys think it is? Help PLZ its been driving me crazy for a weeks...

I remember reading a thread about this somewhere else, try searching for bose amp cutting out. Or bose head unit cuts out, I think there was a fix for the head unit.

Mine does this too with an aftermarket head unit, too lazy to rip all the bose crap out at the moment :/

Ok have done more research and it seems like not even getting a new headunit helps

So it seems like I have to get new everything! :[. Is tere anything that I can do That's cheaper, but will still fix the problem?!?!?

I had a similar issue for a while - Whenever I was on a bumpy road, the sound on the driver side would come and go, and sometimes go for a while only to come back later. Googling around I've found that many people had the same issue and mostly it was a headunited related issue, while others said it was an amp issue.

I was hardwiring my Garmin a month ago and when I was moving cables around I noticed that it cut whenever this one cable moved (two cables attached to each other). I drove to the nearest Autozone with my headunit/gauges still pulled out quickly and bought some electrical tape, went over the two cables from every angle possible, tested the sound and it worked.

Till now I haven't had a single issue (thankfully). In my situation, it was simply a loose cable coming loose here and there =/ Not sure if this might help but thought I'd throw in my experience.

Thank you very much for the response! May I ask where this cable was behind the head unit or somewhere else? I will try this, but if it doesn't work then I guess my wallet will be hurting lol.

It was connected to the head unit but I can't recall which cable it is - If it was the same issue as mine just remove your center console, turn on your system and try pushing together whichever wires are already connected together and see if it makes a difference for you like it did for me. In my case one of the cables was a bit loose.

You'd stop at Step 14 (don't have to pull out the whole thing). It's up to you if you want to remove it, can't guarantee it'll be the same issue! In my case I was lucky to be doing something else at the same time so I was like ehh might as well try it! To clarify my issue (for comparison), not only did the sound go off/on, sometimes it was VERRRY faint, I would set the settings to front and the left sounded 20% in comparison to the right's 100% sound, and if I were to only set the front left speaker it would be very very faint, as if in a hole.

Yes this is exactly what mine does. Either goes on or off, or very faint on left or right of the whole system does it. It sounds like its lose connection, I can hit around my headunit and make the sound go on and off whenever I want lol.

Haha I used to hit the left side until it stopped parking even if I hit it lol. If you're planning on pulling your console out, I would suggest a scewdriver with a metallic tip - I dropped a screw once or twice =/

1. Stop hitting the console. There's a lot of plastic in there that's REALLY easy to break.
2. Disconnect the negative battery terminal, look at the thread that shows you how to pull the headunit and do that.
3. Put a daub of dielectric grease on each of the male pins on the back of the headunit.
4. Reconnect everything and put the console back together.
5. Reconnect the negative battery terminal and and try the stereo again.

If it doesn't work, you probably need a new headunit. You can explore the connections further if you're patient and know how to use a multimeter or a scope. The BOSE system's amp is in the trunk.
