Anyone added speakers besides stock locations??
Not talking about subs either....Just wondering if anyone has added any somewhere for extra sound or tweets. Any pic would be good to if so.

The stock Sail Panel mount was too harsh and impossible to balance the directional sound coming from a tweeter.
To solve this problem, I mounted the tweeters for my front components inside the A-Pillar. It’s a good solution providing proper front staging.
Notice the tweeter points/projects to the windshield, and the sound depends upon reflection to provide a front stage.
The passenger and driver hear left and right channels, but neither side is so dominant that it drowns out the other (which happens when tweeters are in the stock Sail Panels).

Wow very nice.....thx spike. Im having my 2 sundown ported 8's put in monday and I was seeing if there was something extra I could do to help out from drowning out my frontstage. Might see if there is another way for something but Im pretty sure I will definitely see about doing this.

Yeah, down in the kick panels.
I like this location best on the Z. I found too many reflections off the dash and windshield that I didn't like with the tweeters in the A-Pillars.
I've got my 6.5" mid in the door, and a 3" mid and 1" tweeter in the kick panels. Running a Hertz HSK163 component set.

There are (have been) pictures of speakers placed inside kicks posted to this forum on my350z.com. You can probably locate a picture using a search (you might have to go to the Audio Builds section).
Answering your question… Adding a kick “pod” does narrow the floor width for the passenger and driver side, but it doesn’t seem to be a problem (at least, no one has reported this as a problem). The advantage of a kick-positioned tweeter is the added distance from the speaker to the listener. That extra space provides better staging (and ultimately better sound).
With that said, the A-pillar position also provides good distance with a bounce off the windscreen, and it’s an easier and less costly installation.
