Hey guys installed my 4 new speakers dxi 6500 with the jbl gto5ez amp this weekend everything went decently smooth (thanks to the door wiring post) buttt my amp takes about 30-45seconds to actually kick in and some times randomly shuts off also high pitch whine in the speakers but thats probably just needing better/ another ground any suggestions?

According to Crutchfield, the amp's class is AB/D. How hot is the amp getting when it turns off? Also have you verified that the remote on wire is firmly connected?

A bad ground can cause all of these issues, I would first find an unpainted bolt to the frame and move the ground there and see if the issue is still around. If the issue is still there try a little experiment in jumping the remote on wire, just disconnect your remote wire from the H/U and drop a tiny wire between the +12V and Remote terminals and see if it immediately starts up.

Look for a bolt or screw in the chassis/body where the bare threads of the bolt are in contact with bare metal on the chassis. If needed, you can scrape/sand away some of the paint around the female threads of the bolt hole so the ground wire makes good contact with the chassis. Use a ring terminal crimped onto your ground wire, rather than just jamming the bare wire under the bolt head.

Nope still randomly cuts out could be 10 seconds after start up could be 30 minutes its like the remote wire isnt giving a signal just the RCA cables and it gets confused i did change the ground and it def helped with the whining sound
