Default Factory sub location worth a sh**?

Either gonna put 2 10's under the rear sway. Or gonna put 1 10 in the factory. Just depends on if its worth a damn there...

Not worth it IMO. Do the rear enclosure.

I fit a shallow 10" sub in a full enclosure behind where the factor sub goes. I also fit an amp in there for my speakers. Worth it

When in a proper enclosure, a 10" sub in the location of the OEM sub can sound very good. That good sound also assumes a quality head unit, amp(s), etc., not just adding a sub to the crappy OEM system. The devil is always in the details.

Search and you'll find several threads here with all the details.

That's exactly what you don't want to do. Guaranteed to sound like crap.

^^ I agree. Not everyone wants to feel the bass or have a SubW that vibrates the rearview mirror loose.

In fact, a car’s interior is small to handle the long wavelength .

That is simply not the way to do it right. A properly designed/sized/sealed box in that space is. Again, a search will show you what you're after.

I think it's more about quality than quantity. My sub install doesn't rattle my teeth, or even my rear view mirror, but the sound is tight, balanced with the rest of the music, and well-defined. The box materials cost maybe $50, it's totally hidden, and IMO is well worth the time and effort I've put into the design and building. Better to do it right once, as a sound system in your car will get literally hundreds of hours of use every year, at least for most of us.

Anyway, to each his own, and everyone has their own idea about what they want/need.
