antenna amp testing

antenna amp testing
I think my antenna amp is bad. can it be tested ? If I unplug it should I see 12v off of the plug to the amp in the trunk ? 2004 z

It is in the trunk on the left side behind the padding. Mine was not getting power. changed the wireing on the new radio and fixed it. If you need a new amp i bought a used one ans don't need it now.

Not sure how to test it. I did check mine by seeing if i was getting power back to it. I just strip a little spot on the small wire to the amp in the trunk and used a 12v tester to make sure I had power and I did not . If you are getting power and still not working maybe the amp. I would sell the one I have for $10.00 plus postage if you need it. you need to pull the small plugs holding the carpet to get to the amp. lift the center on the plugs and the plugs will come right out then. I had to pull the plastic piece across the bottom back of the trunk also to get the carpet pulled back .
