Quick question with Ground Wire for new head unit installation.
Just bought the pioneer avh-210ex. I also bought the PAC ROEM NIS since I have the factory bose sub and bypass wire.
1) I understand that you have to ground the head unit. However, My question is do I ground the black wire directly to the chassis (meaning black wire from head unit straight to the chassis), or do I solder the black wire from the stereo to the black wire on the PAC ROEM NIS interface. I've watched some head unit installation videos and some do it either way. I'm quite unsure as to which to follow.
2) I was told that the blue wire for the bypass connects to the blue/white wire on the head unit wire harness (System Remote Control). Do I then connect these 2 to the blue wire or to the blue/white wire on the PAC ROEM NIS?
3) Lastly, the head unit has a purple/white wire labeled "Reverse Gear Signal". Which wire do I connect this into?
Thx

Not sure about the first portion, but the purple "reverse gear signal" just gets tapped in to the reverse wire that's powered when your vehicle is in reverse (location varies based on manual or automatic). This tells the unit that you have shifted to reverse and cuts to a rearview camera if you have one. It isn't necessary if you don't have a back up camera.

Some people use the ground on the OEM harness for the HU. Personally, I've done about two dozen installs for friends and family and I always ground it to the chassis. It's good to know you always have a solid ground to avoid issues in the future.
Edit: for question 2, yes. Splice the blue/white from the PAC module and the blue from the bypass together and connect it to the blue/white remote wire from your HU.
