Clean and Origional Install (Car PC / Sub System)
I just finished Phase 2 of my install and thought it was time to post pictures. I have done all the work myself (with the help of my dad) except for the box and amp racks.
I had a local help me with that. (btw, he would be willing to make these and ship them out if anyone is interested, just PM me)
The car PC is working in my room but just hasn't been put into the car yet. I have already made mounts to put the thing in the glove box.
The screen is a lilliput touch screen and was mounted without voiding the warranty!!! Yes, and.... nothing in the car was cut either. A custom mount was made by my dad.... and the screen fit nicely where the stock radio sat. A lot of the supports for the radio had to be removed, but the dash is still very firm. (The screen doesn't way near as much as the radio).
The sub is an audiobahn aw1000q and I have a rocksford fosgate 501bd powering the sub and a 551x powering the stock speakers. Phase 4 will be to upgrade the stock speakers.. but right now it sounds GREAT!. Very clear. Makes my ears bleed actually.
Now for the fun part .. pictures.
Please tell me exactally what you think. I'm always up for some constructive criticism.
All of the pictures can be seen at this link. Here

is the screen mounted upside down?
the install looks very sweet! the stock speakers, if you listen to music at a decent volume, won't last very long with so much extra power. I blew one in a few weeks off my h/u amp. It was a great excuse to upgrade the speakers sooner though!

Looks good. I like the speaker and amp install. very smooth. I think you should clean up the screen a bit. Some black paint and some bondo maybe? Other than that it looks good.
Oh yeah and get those tints. Im not sure what type of neighborhood you live in. But it cant hurt.

Yea, tints comming soon, but I live in a rural arkansas town. I know everyone. I also don't leave my car anywhere except the school parking lot.
I'd like to clean the screen up, and maybe later... but actually it looks much better in person.

Yea, the flormats are temporary... I've been really busy, and no one local has any decent black floor mats.
The ipod is just hooked into a mini-jack lead i have going to the multi-channel amp. The computer will connect to this port once i get it installed.
PM'ed about the price of the box.
The whole system including wires, box, computer parts, speakers, amplifiers, etc. cost around $1800.
I figured that buying independent GPS, DVD, MP3, and subwoofer systems and having them installed could have cost me nearly $10,000.

you should pick up some nismo floormats from performancenissanparts.com ! that install is very clean and very professional. Nice work. At first i wondered why it was curved, but the need to get the spare out, way to think ahead!
