basically the thing that sucks the most about this system is the fact that a crappy free-air 10" is trying to behave as a mid-driver.....probably from 250Hz down.....I would like to stick a resitor in-line with the sub so that it only plays from 80Hz down....I think that this would isolate the sub from the front stage in addition to allowing for less distorted mids at lower volume......
I also think that if the rear soeakers could be attenuated about 5dB's the front stage would have tremendous imaging...
anybody else think that this will work????

 

On the sub, you would need an inductor, not a resistor. It would be a 6 db/oct low pass passive filter.

It probably wouldn't help much.
