What's the log-in? Can't view the pics.
I used an FM modulator with my iPod. Ran the minijack through a hole in the top of the nav pocket. Put a little velcro on the bottom left so that the iPod sits up straight and is braced up to by the open nav door. Works great (sans the questionable modulator), is clean, and removes easily.

that cord would just bug the hell outta me. Anyway, im waiting for the Alpine HU that will be coming out sometime this summer and will be able to display song/artist information, and use the buttons to control the iPod.

I used the IPOD and the Monster cable modulator with charger. It's very good.

If you go to Alpine's web site, they have a link where you can request email notification when this
HU is available. Looks like an excellent set up for those of us that want to have our iPods integrated into our Z's.

I think you can use the regular Alpine HU with AINET bus and then use an AINET bus to RCA cable to hook up your IPOD. I don't know if I can have AINET bus changer and IPOD (using the adapter-above) together. Anybody knows?

Default Ipod with AUX

Let's say you just have an HU without the fancy ai-net action, and just have an AUX input jack in the rear. If you plug the ipod in to this how does it react? Does it work just according to the ipod controls? Does anyone have a setup like this?

Well I have the ai-net and yes u can run more than one thing from it, but if its the cd changer that needs the ai net thing im not sure. I have a ps2 and an ipod hooked up to my alpine, just used an rca splitter. I like ur velcro idea, i did this last summer, i have been tryin to think of better places to put it, the only reason i didnt do that velcro idea is because i like to lay my arm down there, and we all know how sensitive the ipod is to touchin the buttons. But ill be gettin my car out of storage on the first day of spring so ill be doin some rearranging

And sundevil67 u can just use a single rca line from ipod to the aux input. you would have to put the head unit in aux and use the Ipods controls.

BTW the ipod rca wire runs under the coin thing, under the shift boot, and behind the heat controls. so the wire is hidden all the way. And Im going to buy a car charger for it, Im going to try to cut the charger wire and splice it in at the fuse box. I might have someone try to make an ipod mold for me in the coin purse slot, so the mold will let it sit up straight, and have the charging and rca run up through it. I have a pretty good idea of what i want. If anyone has any ?'s just ask

Funny, that is exactly what I wanted to do with my ipod - mount it vertically in the coin holder...What deck is that? Do you have a NAV installed too? I was looking for an alpine solution that would let me have the external monitor like that but also have DVD/NAV/XBOX cabability....If I can't do that I am considering that new double din unit from Kenwood...post pics when you finish the ipod install, good luck!

the new alpine will have the same ainet bus and it will connect via the dock connector to display the track/artist info and use the hu controls and just put the ipod in the glove box.
