Default Sub box under strut bar, access to spare?

For those of you with the sub box flush mounted under the strut bar, can you still access your spare tire? I meet with my installer today and it didn't look like I wouldn't have access to my spare if sub box was flush. I don't know if all spares are 17's but I know mine is? I drive my My 350 daily so I really wanted access to my spare tire in case anything happened . I know, I know get AAA but I don't want to wait 2 hours for a flat bed truck.
If you can still access your spare please post some pics, just wondering if your installer used a door hinge or something so you raise up the thing covering the spare tire, then that would be enough room to rock your spare tire out of there.

I am using Nazar's box and I cannot access the spare without taking the sub out first. I am not sure with a hinged door whether there will be a big enough opening for you to pull out the spare. You can also make it so it will not be too difficult to slide the sub box out if you need to access the spare.

there is a factory 10" install behind driver seat break out panel, I am not sure why you would want to put a heavy ugly box in back of a Z.

Maybe a Honda

This doesn't even deserve a response

Out of all these systems I have seen on the website only 1 person has responded, wow.

I have Nazar's box installed on my car as well. I highly doubt you would be able to get to the spare with moving the box. I ripped my spare out and put my NX tank and amps there.

Cleaner, you still think the box is ugly?

Nice,
Yeah cleaner, what do you think now If you choose not to put a sub box in the back of your Z, then that's fine with me but I choose to, so please don't tell me your thoughts on what I should do to my Z. I asked about access to the spare, not whether I should do it or not.

My sub box is currently built under the strut bar. When designing this with my stereo place I set the requirement that I would need easy access to the spare tire, so.....what they did was the sub box and the rear panel (covers full void under strut) is all one piece. The front panel is attached by 3 screws that screw into the back of the fore mentioned sub box. The panels are slightly larger then the opening so that keeps the box snug. If I want to remove the sub box to access the spare all I have to do is remove the three screws and the whole thing slides out. Hope that makes sense. The whole build (minus sub) w/matching vinyl was $300 at my local stereo shop. I am very pleased with this setup.

Check the stickied link for Subs and you can see a pic of it.

It depends on how your box is built and which side of the strut bar you are flush with. I have the JL audio box and I don't have a problem accessing the spare tire at all. I am stuck with the 10W3's though.
