Default Open Plug/Wireharnes under spare tire

Today I removed the spare tire for the first time. Under it on the right was a wire harness and plug that is not connected to anything. Can anyone tell me what this is (for)?

It's for the optional towing package.

I tested the leads in the plug to see if they were in fact related to the brake, turn signal, or any lights....and they were not.

Any other ideas about what this harness is for?

I am 90% sure that it is the pre-wire for Sat Radio harness. This would explain why the orig. poster with an '04 had it, and those with '03s did not. I have read that the open end of the pre-wire is somewhere around the spare tire.

Bria5 is right,
It's for the Sat Hookup. THe other end is plugged into the factory headunit. I thought it was only on the Bose radio, but my 04 enthusiast with stock radio, also had the wire.

That plug is the N-Bus conn. that only Touring models w/bose systems have. You will use this to connect your sat. radio to the stock deck.
