Lightbulb All 2004 Owners wanting afterstock Nav

All,

Don't bother purchasing the 2003 Non-Navi cluster to find out that the dash colour doesn't quite match. I ordered, and have now recieved the 2004 Nav cluster. Yes, the Nav cluster, not the Non-Nav cluster. The hole for the screen is huge, much bigger than than 2004's standard fit. You also get the correct finisher and the screen's mounting bracket that fits inside the cluster.

I'm gonna be ordering some Nav/Dvd kit soon, so I'll keep you all posted with the installation. BTW: I have actually got my car yet

see pics below. Sorry about the quality due to being the camera phone.

If you want the part no. just let me know.

F8260-CD800 N/Stock Nav Sub Kit

This part number is for UK. Not too sure if this number is used worldwide.

I thought the 04 Nav cluster in the US is motorized. You had to remove a ?gear to open it manually. The part number posted above does not look a US Nissan part number. Anyone knows more about this?

Default Motorised door

Guys,

This part number is a UK part number and the '04 cluster has a manual spring-loaded door.

It might me worth investigating whether you USA guys can get it imported.

I know your information is valid im just not sure what you are telling me.
Are you saying the non nav cluster in the 04 model varies from the 04s that have a nav system in it?
Then are you saying you can order the 04 nav cluster and that it allows nice sized screens to fit?
Im trying to follow you here im just a newb.

I think he got the 04 non-nav door since its not motorize and just spring loaded.

Default Nav Door.

Incorrect. I actually ordered the '04 Nav door. In the UK the Nav door isn't motorised, fortunately.

I have a 04 model and It has No nav.
Are you telling me that if i buy this nav kit you have linked to that Ill be able to better fit a lcd screen into my Z?
Also, Are you telling me it will color match and all that stuff?

Thanks

if you are in the US you will have to buy the 03 nav door. The 04 pocket will not allow you to put the screen in and have it look decent because of the gears on the side for the motor. The 04 NAV door is motorized and you will have the same problem fitting the screen from what is sounds like. I have the TME-770 in my car. I bought the 03 nav compartment and it took about 15 min to put the screen in. It was very easy. I would suggest this option to everyone with an 04 that wants to put a screen in. I tried it with the 04 pocket and the only way that it fit was I cut out the very back of the pocket and installed it. Disadvantage was the screen is in the very back of the pocket. When you sit in the drivers seat you cannot see the left side of the screen. Get into your car and look at this. Imagine the screen all the way in the back of the pocket. It looks like ****. Get the 03 cluter. It is so much better and even looks stock with the screen that I have

I don't know what the non-nav cluster for the '04 model looks like so I can't comment on which one is better. All I can tell you is that the cluster I ordered (UK) is the same cluster that one would get in the OEM navigation kit when purchased. The motorised door model doesn't apply to the UK.

Also, the only reason there's a colour issue is because people have been buying '03 cluster units for '04 350zs. If you buy an '04 cluster it'll obviously match the '04 colour. Mine matches perfectly.

See my post for pics of my setup:

04 EURO SPEC nav cluster is the same as the 03 US SPEC nav cluster, but with better colourmatch.
