Love it. Works great. Muti functions and abilities. Touch Screen is nice with fingerprint less surface. Size/tilt angles are perfect for the factory headunit location. Plays BURNED CDs, DVDs, and VCDs.

Only downsides are that 1) you have to find a trim that fits, or DIY one. The one it comes with doesnt fit that well. 2) It does not show the clock unless you switch to the main manual. 3) it gets hella hot when playing for awhile. 4) Not retractable(safety reason).

All and all, I love mine.

Its awesome, I love it and it looks great in the dash. Use a metra kit for the trim.

I have an 04.5 track with Nav. My nav door is motorized, so I need figure out how to work around that. Any chance you have a motorized door too?

Looks good. I custom cut a carbon fiber plate attached to the trim it came with. Then modified the brackets so the headunit sits flush with the dash.

Awesome!

So how do I get the nav door to stay open when I take out the key? It closes when I power off the car.

Modify brackets? doesnt the head unit screw into the factory brackets? So what did you do, drill new holes in factory bracket??
Thanks,

Great,
I am getting really excited about this head unit !
I read something about a lead that has to be attached to the parking break light. I dont have a service manual and dont have any idea what I need to do for that. This is about the last part of installation i think I will need to figure out.
Thanks,

Just pop off the shifter console and there will be a green wire running to the ebrake. Just cut and ground this wire and you can watch DVDs anytime you want

Theres no need to keep the nav door open with the car off to use the headunit.

re green wire: Im a little confused. I obviously need to take a look, but want to be sure before I order the hardware. Isnt there some wire that has to run from head unit to ebrake? Is that the green wire you are reffering to? I would appriciate some more detialed info. If the green wire is a "stock" wire, wont the ebrake indicator stay lit on the dash? Please explain.

Re nav door: my nav door is motorizid. It closes automatically when I take out the key. I need it open to get to screws under controls for nav to take off dash. However I dont want to screw up anything by taking apart the dash while the car is "on".

Thanks!!!

I just got my car back today and I like it. I'm not too worried about it not being flush. I also noticed that it gets hot. That surprised me. Unfortunately mine doesn't work now. I went out to personalize my settings and it just turns off. It's still getting power and you can go through the menus but as soon as you try sirius, a cd or music keg it'll turn off. The little triangle still flashes when it cuts off also. They put the amp(JL Audio e6450) where the bose sub used to be. I hear a fan come on but then it turns off at the same time with the Kenwood so I believe the amp or the fan is the culprit. Wish me luck cuz that bose really sucked and I'm still breaking the car in so I can't REALLY hear the beautiful engine music.

Hey Mark, did you or a shop customize the braket ?
If it was you, could you go into more detail on which braket, and what you did to it, to make it fit flush ?

Those with the metra kit, did you use the double din plate with nothing in the center , or take the one with the divider in the middle, and cut it out ?
I was looking at the metra kit yesterday, and it had 2 trim pieces, and the edges look different, it looks by the pictures, that you guys are using the one with the divider, and cutting it out

Appreciate the help, looking to buy this unit and install it myself
Taken the dash out to installl my gauges, that is pretty straight forward, so I think I can do the sterero.

Oh, and is there a wiring adaptor kit I need to get for the z ?

Thanks!
