Default Tweeters are Painful

I have the bose system and even with the treble turned to -5 (which makes voices sound like **** also) , the high pitched noises are piercing and unbearable. Has anyone else had this problem? Should I replace the tweeters or the hu? Any other ideas?

Replace it all, if you are in the Orlando area I can recommend a real good audio store.

I replaced it with a pioneer head unit, infinity kappa perfect 6.1 components up front, disconnected the rears, one jl audio 10w3 sub with two kicker amps.

i agree that you should replace it all if the funds will allow it. if you're in Miami I recommend going to Miami Sound Design. I've been working there for a little while for fun and i've got to say they actually do really good work. Plus if u do it when i'm there I've already got experience doing the Z

My setup is in my signature, but will be a little different soon. My subs will be replaced by a single 10W7.

Ah too bad I didn't see that earlier since i am in the miami area, but I got it done at sound advice (tweeter) and they did an excelent job. Everything sounds awesome. Hows the 10w7 sound? I didn't have the extra money to go for it, but may upgrade later...

the 10w7 is sweet, but you can't go wrong with a w6v2 either.

i used to know a guy that did installs at sound advice (the one in aventura...dont know where u went). he did really nice work too, but i'm not sure if he still works there or not.

if you're ever wanting to upgrade to a W7 let me know and i'll see what i can do for you.

That "bite" to the sound are the little dome tweeters near the mirrors. Just put a piece of electrical tape over it and see how much better it sounds. The best thing to do replace the system.
