Check out Xtant X1044. Just about the quickest 10" on the market. Very reputable company. You could even go 3 8". Check out JL Audio.

Best is subjective. Best bet would be to go down to a stereo shop with a mix of your favorite songs and have them demo some speakers for you.

Like a previous poster said, listen to the subs yourself. Everyone has different ears and preferences. When I was sub shopping, all the recommendations I got was a bit too boomy for my liking when I actually listended to them. I had narrowed my choices down to JL audio and Elemental Designs. I was set to get the Elemental Designs, but got a great deal on a W6V2 with a custom enclosure I could not pass up. Go to different stores and simply listen to different subs.

Xtant is MTX parent company. Sound and build quality along with components used is better than MTX. just a little fyi...

My friend listens to industrial so the subs has to be quick. I don't listen to techno so I can't recommend subs accordingly. However, 3 JL 8W7 powered by an Xtant 1000.1 would be wicked. Very quick, not boomy.

Thanks for the FYI stu46. didn't know that about xtant. I think anything less than MTX's super woofers is garbage. There low end stuff is for the civic croud.

There r a growing number of people that believe that the MTX 9500, 8500, & 7500 super woofers compare nicely to the JLW7. Some will even go as far to say they r better.

I say they very close (maybe the same), but much cheaper. AND HIT HARD AS HELL!!!!!!
