How much were you looking to spend? Best thing to do is go down and listen to different speakers. Everybodys hearing is different.

Djames, I asked the same thing a while back, but like stu said, your just going to need to hear them to determine it on your own. Maybe trial-and-error if you don't want to go to a show. I am looking towards Kicker for speakers, a sony and panasonic headunit, kicker tweeters, and Image Engineering "In-Z PC" and PS2 (that's my 'entertainment' plan); I haven't heard them, but I trust that this setup should sound good, but if it doesn't, 'trial-and-error' and i'll just send them back and get some different stuff.

Really good is relative. I spent $8k and I got deals. Personally, I would only get Xtant amps, JL subs, Clarion HU (Kenwood 7015 for a double din), Boston Acoustics or PHD components.

Can you hear the difference between a $1k set of components and a $100 set? If so, is it a $900 difference? Do you want it to look stock/stealth or show? Do you want to spend $2k or $10k?

What you're asking cannot be answered with a simple answer. Kinda like asking what's the best car? Too many variables. If you say "I've got $2000 and want it to look stealth." no problem. It's a start.

No prob. One thing I know is busy. I frequent this forum to get away from the insanity called life. 2-3k would set you up good. Not sure what type of music you listen to, but that should be plenty. I spent the most on my components because I like quality sound. I don't like the bass to drown out the voice/instruments.

Best advice I could give is to get your favorite cd. Listen to it so you know every little sound. Ex. Eric Clapton Unpluged, you hear a bottle cap drop on the front left. Take that cd down to a stereo shop and listen to a bunch of speakers. Go home, search online and buy. Or you can buy from the stereo shop and have them install. Main thing is to post pics when finished.

Here is one set of data points for you:

http://www.350zfrenzy.com/forum/show...ighlight=stero

Find & visit at least three good audio shops giving them some idea of budget. When you find someone who sounds knowledgeable and (reasonable) honest get his/her recommendations. Then come back here & get input on the componets of system recommended.

By the way, I doubt you will find the quality system & install you want at major retailers (Good guys, Circuit City, etc). You want custom guys.
