I have the viper w/ GPS. Yes it does require a yearly fee but for the basic service (trust me its all you need, i went overboard and bought the ultra :/) you get around 50 alerts, all the bells and whistles and road side assistance.. The only downside i've found is the coverage. I live right by LAX and the reception on the GPS receiver is terrible, I don't get reception at my home right in the middle of one of the most populated parts of the country but once i get on the freeway or into downtown it works like a charm, so I do have the piece of mind that I should be able to track down whoever may steal my car and dole out some vigilante justice.

I have a DEI alarm. Directed Electronics Inc. (www.directed.com) Its great, it has a 2 way pager with a little lcd screen, remote start(which I didnt want), trunk release and even my installer hooked up the gas cover to release as well with a push of a 2 buttons. I would recommend this alarm to any one.

Haven't seen this installed yet just came across the site when browsing for alarms.

If anyone has it installed or know anything of it please comment.

There's an alarm called Omega Max w/ Echo-2 upgrade kit and GPS.

http://www.caralarm.com/cart/prodeta...id=925&start=1

The Echo-2 is the 2-way pager w/remote start.

It has its own LED light on the dash on the drivers side by the windshield that will scare off any intruders. Also, if you open the door, and its armed... the horn will honk over and over again. What this does is gets the attention of anyone near-by and will scare off the intruder.

The best part? When you arm it while walking away... it will flash your lights and honk the horn. Anyone around that see's this will know not to mess with the car and that you are serious about it.

I believe you can get it from Nissan. I have not seen them on ebay so you know they are hard to find and a rare item to have.

I like to show it off at the local car shows. People ask me where did I get it and who makes it... I tell them its custom.

The only problem is I cant get the remote start to work. I was told I had it with the alarm when I bought the car. The salesman said to hold down all the buttons on the remote key fod at the same time.

I was going to try it then but he said not to until the car is broken in. So at 1500 miles I tried it. Well just my luck... the windows went down, trunk popped open, and the horn went off all at the same time. Did'nt start. Boy, was I angry!

I called the local Nissan dealer to speak to the salesman that sold me the car. Now he tells me he does not know how it works and that he's not even sure if it has that option.

If anyone could please tell me how the remote start works I would really appreciate it.

All in all... I really like my alarm and its a real girl getter! <---- I have pictures to prove it from car shows, and an autogragh. I had to wait in line... but I have them.

I guess everyone that frequents the AV section has no sense of humor! Had to bump for a funny post!

I've got the Python 990 SST. It's reliable, it doesn't malfunction or break and it's got absolutely outstanding range. I've also got it interfaced with the Viper GPS which works great, but I haven't needed to use it yet.
