Upgraded Sound System
I just finished my first upgrade to the sound system......kept the stock head unit, installed Alpine line output converters, MTX Thunder 4405, MB Quart 6.5 and tweeter, and Bazooka 10" Tube.
Sounds SOOOOO much better....crisp sound, lots of base.....and looks almost stock (just a tube under the rear strut). Amp mounted in glove box....all looks as sounds good.
Could not have done this without the help from this board....great "how to's" posted here. Was easier than I thought it would be.....
Installed my AEM CAI two weeks ago....wheels are next....

Dings,
Can you provide me the link for the converters? I am doing the same thing, except mine is going to be a Infinity Perfect and I already have the basslink.
Also, are you still using the rear speakers? Did you have to use a distrbution block? What size from the battery to it?
Edit: How hard is it to find the wire for the speakers in the front? Whats the color? I am assuming you have the non bose HU too.

I got these from a friend that was selling his car, but the converters are Alpine 4311 LOC's.
I am using the rear output block which converted connects to my amp and onto the sub. I am actually using the deck to power the MB Quart 6.5's of front through the MBQ crossovers mounted in the doors.
I did not convert the front and run via the amp because I did not know which color the front output were either, but that will become irrelavant at the next upgrade when I put in a new head unit (already ran 3 RCA cables back to the glove box to prepare)
Ran power directly from battery to amp in glove box (6GA wire) I think?? Came with the amp.... (all Monster cable)
