I dynamated the whole car too with dynamat. Great prices for it on e-bay. I just slapped down the largest peices I could and cut smaller ones to fill in whatever gaps were there. You can tell the difference just hitting the metal of the car. With the dynamat there is no ringing resonation at all.
I don't really understand the need to have a "clean" install of this stuff though. Slap it in, roll it down. Having that rubbery substance in contact with the metal seems to make the difference and I don't think the added weight would really make a difference overall.
Where/how exatly are you guys coating the wheel wells?
I can see why I might want to add a second layer there.
