Default My Stereo install in progress

Here is some pics of my stereo install.
Going slow, as it is my 1st time installing, building an enclosure, and making amp rack.

Front speakers are Infinity Perfects 6.1.
And the amp is Phoenix Gold OctaneR & ZR10 sub

I have the plexi cut and fitted for the top of the amp rack, and I have a piece of brushed aluminum coming to line the inside.
Should look pretty good.
The sub and amp center light up with a blue led, looks pretty sweet.

Looks great!

wasn't dyno matting fun.....not!!!

what brand deadener did you use? I am not sure but I think you might have to go back and press that matting down more flush in some areas. i was told that if the matt is not touching all of the surface it is really not doing much. Even when I doubled up in areas I made sure to push her flat in all areas.

maybe someone else can chime in on this one.

Have u powered up the infinities yet? How do the sound?

I have them as well.

Hi,

Are you using the stock HU. I so undecided as to whether to keep the stock HU. I have bought almost every part of the system except the hu.

It's looking amazing! I can't wait to see the outcome (as I'll probably doing something very similar). Make sure to let us know how it sounds! How much/where did you get your sub and amp for? (I'm also interested in Phoenix Gold) What head unit will you be using?

it's looking very good so far!

as daewoo was saying if the dynamat (or whatever material you're using) isn't tight on the surface it won't do it's job. i can't really tell in the pics but you should make sure it's down tight. that is definitely the worst part of doing installs.

it sounds really good.
Boy those Infinity's are bright, I love my highs, but I can see why Rajiv you have yours set to -4 db.
I have mine on 0, and its alittle to much.
You think I can soften it alittle with the HU settings ?
Don't really want to take off the door panels, and change the tweeter level...

I will post my rear view camera install, when that is done.
Its sweet, I have it wired into my rear reverse lights, and it triggers the Kenwood 7015 when it goes in reverse, and automaticly switches to the camera.

Not sure what head unit u have but u should be able to adjust the tweeter from there. I know that Alpine and pioneers allow that.

I dont remember all the tuning features on the kenwood hu's but there should be some way to get the highs a little softer. if there is an equalizer you can adjust just turn down the higher frequencies a bit till it's not too harsh.
