Default AUX In... Please help...

I have read about FM Modulators, etc.

Is there no solution to utilized the CD Changer Option of the Stock Non Bose Stereo to get a high quality AUX input to the stereo?

What are my options?

I am considering an FM Modulator as I do not want to replace the stock stereo, but I can't believe there is not other way.

Thanks!

Just get the aux input adapter from PAC, it plugs into the sat input on back of nissan factory head units, it gives you 2 rca aux inputs. I got it for my 03 Murano and it works great!

heres a link to the item on e-bay, $80 is a good price!

It doesn't work with the stock HU unless it is the Bose one with a satellite connector on the back.
The Soundgate ALNS1 should work with the basic HU when coupled with the Soundgate AUXCBLALP.

Well, I thought the same until I removed the non-bose HU and noticed a sat input on the back, I even plugged in the PAC adapter to be sure it fit (I pulled the Z HU a few days before I installed the PAC in the Murano) so it was easy to check...I could be wrong, but it sure looks the same and it does plug into the same port (color and style matched)...hope this helps you and dosen't confuse anyone, including myself!

The SAT connector and CD Changer connector are both 12 pin.
However, the PAC or Soundgate do not simply supply a left and right line input - they have to send the correct signal to the HU to open the input on either the SAT or CD Changer socket.
Although they look identical, I'm not convinced both would work on either HU. Why else would Soundgate specify "w/o" SAT and PAC "with" SAT. There is no reason why a commercial company would limit its market unnecessarily.

I emailed one of those companies and they said you have to have a SAT button on the front of the HU or it will not work.

I guess I may have to replace my HU.

Maybe the CD input fits a PAC, but how would you active it to play the output from the AUX you are attaching.

Did you email Soundgate?
Their device is for a head unit without the SAT button. It converts the Nissan cd changer socket on the back of the Head Unit to an Alpine one. An adaptor can be used for rca inputs or Icelink for an Ipod.It should allow Aux input by selecting the CD changer button on the head unit. You cannot use the CD changer as well. You won't need it anyway if your sounds are on your mp3 player.
They're for sale here:

ALNS1

AUXCBLALP

Dension Icelink

The logjam page says that these work with a factory 350Z head unit without a SAT button, but I would double check with Soundgate.
The PAC definitely requires a SAT ready head unit

Default Well I ordered it all...

Yesterday I ordered the PAC, iPod Adapter & and iPod.

I will install as soon as everything arrives, probably next week and post my findings. I could have a lot of stuff to eBay if this does not work!

Any good suggestions on iPod mounting location?

Does anyone know how to activate the CD Charger? Hit CD 2X maybe. I will check the Nissan Owners Manual.

Thanks for all the help and hopefully I will have good news soon!

Anthony, as I said it's the Soundgate ALNS1 you need and not the PAC AAI-NIS.
I hope I'm wrong - good luck!
