anyone interested in fiberglass enclosures for 350z?
hey fellas a buddy of mines makes fiberglass enclosures and just recently completed one for my z....the one pictured will hold 2 kicker comp 8;s and one solobaric 10. fits in the space between u and the rear sturt bar and has a flat amp rack molded inbetween the speakers...bottom is carpeted and top is painted same color as my car...anyhow i was wondering if anyone would be interested in a setup similar to this...my enclosure is all chambered individually for each speaker but u can fit 3 10s on top or 2 on top one firing to the rear like mines, some 12;s will fit but big 12;s like the rockford he;s with super magnets no can do need to much air space and there isnt enough room well there is but my buddy would need your speakers to make them fit ..anyhow enclosure are about 300-450 depending on your wants and needs and depending on if you want carpeting and painting if anyone is interested shoot me a email nuffsaid02@aol.com thanks ...just trying to help out theres very little people who make custom enclosures for our cars and jl audio has a stealth box but want 750 bucks for it...thanks again
well most fiberglass enclosures have wood frames, the top is fiberglass to get its shape and then its chambered individually for all 3 speakers with wood, sealed with resin and silicon..
Hmm, would be interested in seeing a pic of this in the car. I've got a solo 10, but it's square not round. Show a pic of how it looks in the car and I would be much more interested... Looks cool though!
give me till the weekend im installing a stereo and speakers in my car and this weather isnt helping much hopefully it will be in the car this weekend and ill snap and post for everyone to see.....the speaker box size specs were taking from a post on the 35zmotoring forum..some guy made a pretty cool box on there and posted detailed measurements ..we took that and just modified it a bit for our likings....but give me till the weekend thanks

well i have 5 speakers 2 12 inch rockford hes 2 8 inch kicker comps and one 10 inch solobaric since the 12s are to big to fit in that space im using i used the other 2 i had ...the 8s hit as hard as any 10s ive heard and the 10 will just add to the sound....the box is individually chambered for all 3 speakers, airspace depends on what speakers u use will be different for different brands, box is not ported its sealed with fiberglass resin and silicon....i just tried to use what i had and fit as much of it in the little space i was using so i can still have some kind of trunk space...

As a rule of thumb, You want your subs to work together. Having them face the same general area. You can have them face in different angles, however having a sub fire back and the other two forward you will have wave cancellations in the cabin. Also the 10 you have in the rear will over achieve the 8" subs resulting in aqoustic cancellations... Not to mention phase issues and linearity issues. 8" will have a different curve than the 10. If the goal is to cram as much subs in an enclosure great, but for sound quality purposes I would fire them all the same direction. You may find single 10" facing the hatch will produce much more bass then the 2x8" facing forward. This is one of the reason why the stock location is not the greatest in this car. I would be curious to find out what the end result is like. You may be better off with just the 2x8" or Just the single 10 firing back. Not both at the same time firing different directions.
Just my .02 cents. I hate to see a fellow member do all that work and have it not sound to it's maximum potential.
