pre-wired for satellite?
Appreciate the zboater thought.
The problem is that the Bose head unit is sirius compatible.
We need to know specifically whether the N-Bus cable harness is installed from the bose back to the area behind the passenger seat in the ROADSTER.
Surely, someone has made this installation and can answer this question.
If the cable harness is installed, is the tuner from grubbs generic nissan oem Sirius the correct tuner.
Do we need the extender N-Bus cable
Can the tuner be mounted in the roadster in the same location as it is mounted in the coupe?
Where are the installation gurus? We need help with this.
Thanks to all.

I think I noticed the '05 online options page at nissanusa.com showing both a Sirius and XM option. I have a 2004.5 (April build) Roadster and would love to add XM if it can be done, using the Blose head unit for a 'similar' price to replacing everything.
I'd of course use an alternate antenna location to the factory design.
Out of curiosity I'd be most greatful to anyone that could dig up a part number for the factory (presumably dealer-installed?) kit, and a price too. We aren't allowed such niceties from Nissan Canada.
Thanks!
Bob

The dealers are absolutely o help on this one. My Dealer Empire in Denver says that since the roadster wasn't pre-wired for xm, it can't be done. No thought process added in that statement.
Can anyone that has torn apart their roadster let us know if the harness from the bose unit to behind the passenger seat is installed? If so, all we have to do it mount the tuner and add an antenna. Otherwise, we have to add the n-bus.
All of the parts that we need are available at grubbsparts.com
Gurus - please help

Unfortunately the fine print goes on to say "Not available with Roadster models" and "vehicle must be factory pre-wired for satellite radio" so when you add them up I would doubt *anything* but the possibly/probably compatible head unit is in place. I don't mind adding the rest including hiding the receiver in the trunk or storage area where Nissan doesn't want to put it.

Ok. So I talked to Nissan parts and service department, and they told me the Touring model, with the Bose Headunit comes with a factory Sat Outlet. (No Roadster).
All you have to buy is the Sirius or XM Tuner - $320
Antenna - $14
Harness - $58
$392- total. and its plug and play (not including installation).
The dealer wanted $491 to intall this!! If you can believe this..
The alternate is to do like what the other guy did.
Buy the PAC- AAI-NIS audio input and hardwire it in. - $76
Sirius Tuner from Best Buy or wherever - $100.
So total = $176 + labor, considerably cheaper, but i suppose to need to hide the after market unit.

Wow, so that parts guy is basically saying the Roadster head unit is a different part number since it hasn't got the satellite input. I wouldn't have figured them to bother subbing a second Clarion model between the two vehicles, especially if the sat-ready unit is also offered in other Nissan lines.
This makes absolutely no sense.
Can't someone get the oem part number for both the roadster and coupe so that we can answer this question forever. BTW - the cable that is missing is only a 4 wire cable. If we can find the part number for the connectors, the cable would be duck simple to make.
