Alpine IVA-W200 installed, this thing rawwks!
Man, this is probably the sweetest tuner I've used from Alpine in a long while. I've been using Alpines since my first car. An Alpine head unit was the first mod I've ever done. And this thing takes the cake!
They had slipping these last few years. Some of the 98xx series were just..usability challenged. They *worked* fine, but they were just a ***** to use and not drive into a tree at the same time.
The W200 fixes ALL that. Keeping in mind that I'm also throwing in my first experience with an iPod, and dumping CDs, etc., making playlists.. I've avoided all that before. I was a CD-burner.
I doubt I'll ever listen to another CD again. The Head Unit is that good. Sounds that good. Works that good. This thing is a bargain for what you get considering the price and offerings from their competitors.
Anyway, the thing is gorgious. Justin @ Tweeter in Frisco hooked me up. The install is CLEAN! I understand it takes some work to get it to look this good in our dash. I'm a plug-and-play type of installer and when it comes to stuff that is "in your face" all the time I leave it to the pros. These guys did an awesome job.
So without further ado...
Cheers,
-Smoky

Direct plug in I believe. I do not think the old Alpine external interface is needed. Plug just runs into the console, and the iPod is hidden away. If I could wirelessly upload music to it I would probably never see it again! lol
Thx!

Call Justin @ Tweeter
(214) 387-4761
I really don't know what all went into it, but suspect they just carefully shaved down an existing kit. My hands aren't steady enough for that kind of stuff.

It is the exact same dash kit and unit as what was used in the pictures I posted the first tiem around It is a double din iso mount pocket from American international that we used. Takes some cutting and shaving but that is all.

Guess so. Let me know if you have any in stock with that mount pocket and a wiring harness. I'm ready to buy one.
PM me with details please.

I'll try to get more pics later. But what you see is pretty much how it works. Row-based drill down selections. You can download the user's manual at www.alpine-usa.com .
No Sat Radio yet, but soon! :-) Want to get a back-up camera as well. But not sure where to find one. Alpine doesn't list a "recommended accessory" on their website.

Similar to what I want..but more stealthy. I'm SO paranoid about people stealing stuff off the car. Kinda want it to be hidden.
Can I use any universal cam kit for the Alpine?
And what about steering wheel controls? Have folks successfully added a PAC OEM-type interface to get the wheel-mounted volume controls working for an Alpine?
Thx!

Apparently easily added. Alpine has a new mobile nav brain that is portable from vehicle to vehicle. I believe this HU is compatible with that upcoming system. (if it isn't already available)
