The beast has arrived! I must say I'm in awe at the size, weight, and construction of the FI sub. The pictures I took do not do it justice. It weighs in @ 30lbs and is just plain out massive. IMO it's construction is superior to the Rockford T1 I previously owned. You can tell the sub was freshly made also, due to the residual smells of new plastics and glue when the box was opened.
I took a close up pic of the mounting hole. The outer rim of the sub has a black rubber finishing ring, which appears to be glued to the sub. When you look into the hole, you can not see through to the other side. I'm assuming it's just because excess glue & material is blocking the view, and I'm suppose to just pierce through it with my mounting bolt. Can somone who's had experience with these subs please confirm this?
Enjoy the pics guys. I will most likely get to the install on Monday, maybe this Saturday if I have time.....

Very nice sub!!!
That last pic looks like some of the foam surround is covering the hole. you should be able to punch a screw through that easily. I am curious as to shy they use a foam surround as opposed to a rubber surround.

As far as the foam goes, your guess is as good as mine. They foam is quite thick though.
Well, typically rubber is better than foam only because of durability in the elements. Rubber typically also tends to be more flexible or pliable. However, that's not to say that a foam surround is inferior. It may be a special poly blended foam or something. who knows. It's a damn nice sub either way!

This sub is gorgeous in person. I can't wait to install it and crank my amp up. I'm hoping I don't have insufficient car amperage issues once I crank the amp up though....

take you volt meter before you turn on stereo , check voltage on underhood battery should read 14 to 14.5 volts
if yes
go ahead and turn on stereo
once it is craked at max desired volume
take volt meter and place - & + probes on - & + power and ground wires at the amp
let me know what you voltage is reading at the amp at idle
13.5 volts or more and your fine
under 13 volts and your gonna need a trunk battery
