latest simple 350Z stealth install for ya
It seems I work on a ton of Zs, but come to think of it, i havent done a Z in sometime now, all G35s and other cars so here you go, the latest simple stealth install in a Z
Goals:
1. decent SQ on a budget
2. complete stealth in the trunk, no floor rasiing at all
3. navi, bluetooth, ipod and backup camera installs
so...the car is a 2006 Z. Signal starts with a pioneer avic-z2, ipod adapter in the upper cubby, note the reverse camera playing on the screen
here is the tiny pioneer backup camera:
front stage is a pair of DLS rference MS6A 6.5" two way components in my kick panels:
thats about it in the interior, moving to the trunk, hree is the normal view, as you can see from the hooks on the sides, virtually no raising of hte floor, not even an inch completely stock look:
liftoff the two layered carpet, and still not much to the eyes, just two pop off panels, with an entirely new fake floor out of 1/2" mdf and trimed in premium grade carpet
and finally, pop those two covers off and you see the amp and sub, both trimmed in white vinyl to match the car.
a DLS ultimate A5 3 channel amp sends over 85 watts to the front kicks, and 800 watts of class AB poewr to the two image dynamics ID10 10" subs...a bit of an overkill for two id10s but more power, when the gains is adjusted right, is never a bad thing
and finally, the wiring and stuff below the floor for reference:
again, noting fancy, just simple and clean and it sounds quite excellent, espeically the sub stage, the A5 is the same amp i use in my own car extremely powerful and controlled.

Bing, I wish I wasn’t a thousand miles from your shop… would love to have you do some of your magic on my Z car. Pictures #3 and #4 in your post really make me re-think my opinion about using kicks (these are best looking kicks I've seen “evah!”).
Really like your posts with great pics.

After seeing your superior workmanship on kicks, I am no longer "hating" this solution. I suppose the best place to see this solution is going to your Website.

i dont have any really fancy ones in a Z, i mean, project alyssa i sanded it down smooth and wraped it in CF vinyl, its also two seprte rings versus a common baffle:
there is also this one i did a long time ago:
but i always favor the simple common baffle suede cuase its cheaper, sounds good and is durable

have done about 30 pairs of kicks in Zs now, so far, no smashed tweets cuase when its built out, your feet acutally dont naturally rest against it
oh well, fo those with really clumsy feet, i can offer the iridium tweeter which is cast alimun grille that you can stand on and wont break

Great Job!!!!!!
Wow Bing I am impressed by the work you have done. You are a master at what you do. The SQ compared to the stocks speakers is unbelievable. I was bumping those subs all the way home. Bing does great work & you should go to him if you're planning to upgrade your stereo system. He even offered to drop me off at home, if I needed a ride. I live all the way in Tracy & that is almost 2 hours from his place. I can't wait to see your next project you have lined up.
