nizl's PIMP stereo system sub install
After 3 weeks, I have my car back, and the stereo sounds so good it makes me want to gnaw my leg off. The guys at Street Noyz (San Diego) were outstanding in every aspect. I got the car back with 0.1 mile on it, and they respected it incredibly. Top-notch work throughout, impeccable attention to detail, and they put up with me stopping by every other day too!
Anyways, here are a couple pics. The Dynaudio + IDMAX combo is amazing. I have a TON of in-progress pics which I will try to post soon. The finished product is CLEAN and PIMP. The guy is going to try to get it into "Car Audio & Electronics" magazine, so look for my Z on a newstand near you....
Here's the sub + amp in hatch.... custom fiberglass, plexi, vinyl panels....

guessing you had a base stereo then? Id like to have a MP3 deck, but I have touring, I cant justify tearing out the upgraded stereo to buy a new one. unless someone wanted to buy it, but I doubt anyone would. why not just upgrade their own system to aftermarket?
looks sweet none the less.

The speakers aren't even broken in yet... and the sound is already incredible.
BTW, the Dynaudios sound "bright", I think due to the small cabin of the Z, so I'm hesitant to recommend speakers like MB Quart that are already bright (Dynaudios are "mellow").
PS here's the rear panels getting framed out of MDF...

Oh, and here's Chad from Street Noyz busting his A$$ on my system... this guy was awesome, the whole design of the hatch was his idea and it came out BEAUTIFUL (with sound to match)....

Last post for tonight... here's the wiring for the amp. Notice that it was done to perfectly and was completely HIDDEN!! Since it's all covered by the vinyl panels, it wasn't done for show, but pure SOUND!!! Man this system makes me want to cry it's so good...

might be wrong but I bet doing this job was a pleasure for him, he probably does the same install of cheap subs into a civic every day. not too often someone brings in a fine car like a Z and asks for some nice work to be done. the same goes true for most workers, they do better work if they are proud of what they are doing.
Im sure your car is quite a work of art to him. not just some rice car.
