Nav-tv.com first 350z test pig...me :)
I decided to do some mods today.
Now I put in a k&n airfilter(decided against the JW popchgr), put little z value stem caps on from courtesy nissan(lost my factory ones) and my first big mod should be done next week.
bye bye $1000 bucks hello nav-tv.com
The RGB converter is coming on friday and the stereo shop is installing the RGB converter, the fm modulator, and the switch. Plus im doing a audiovox DVD player (went cheap) in the adjacent space next to the nav dvd.
I asked him to expose the RGB slots under dash so I can hook up my PS2, the gay installer is gonna run a wire to the emergency brake. Guess whats gonna get clipped when i take it home... hee hee.
I also picked up the factory frost dvd frame used on the dvd plyer behind the driver seat from courtesynissan. (Steve aka partspeddler just got back from Japan...had a LLLOOONNGG talk with him
lets hope I didnt just pooch screw my nav system.
I should see the finished deal by next tuesday. I'll have pics. Nav-TV is sending em diagrams for the G35 nav...and I am hoping its the same deal which...it should be.

Is the Nissan nav the same as Honda and Toyota, RGB with a composite sync? If so, the Pioneer gex p7000tv will convert composite to RGBcS and do the the video switching. Video-Nav has a black for the 7000tv box so you don't have to splice into your RGB cables or breakout the ir receiver. This saves time, knowledge and money for the diy types.

I have a Z to convert after Sema, so any help would be appreciated. Also does anybody have a factory service manual with the radio/nav schematics. I searched but didn't find anything. i will continue to search.

Same thing on the rims... No matter what rims I get they'll fit on a G or a Z, and i'll make sure to get rims that'll look good on both. Worst comes to worst, if I get the SSR GT3's, they'll fit on my GS400 as well, I've always wanted 19's on that car

Damn if you had that You could do my nav-tv upgade...i got all the parts...im just scared to do it myself.
Im having Tweeter in Lewisville TX my RGB converter upgrade. Install on Saturday 10 am.
Im thinking of some kind of toggle for dvd/nav/ps2 (anyone know who to do this with out constant pluging and unplugging)
I'm still waiting on the clarion dvd player...so im gonna have exposed rgb cables to hook up the PS2. whne the DVD gets here im gonna investigate somee kind of toggle switch for all three.

Just my luck.....houston we have a problem.
The installer thinks that the rgb converter is defective...calling nav-tv to send out another one.
Everything works but the dvd screen has lines in it. When its on NAV it is perfect. The FM modulator sounds good.
But the other thing that is bugging me is...now the service engine soon is on again....GEEZ
SKIDD....I would love a copy of the service manual
Well. Looks like Nav-tv needs to trouble shoot this and send a new rgb converter out....It looks cool I can now imagine it being perfect...very cool.
Heres a pic of my 350z ps2 concept game I got from Zisme, playing on the NAV screen.
