There is no reason to - the back speakers are not blocked like the front.

I thought about it, but didn't want to go through the trouble of trying to find a matching color.

I contemplated it, but didn't really find any legitamate reason to other than asthetics...

Question

Hey all,
Forgive the ignorant question but as I am out in Iraq right now it is not like I can look and measure myself.
What is the diameter of the front speaker covers? I was looking at something like this instead of making my own: http://cgi.ebay.com/BEST-KITS-BKSG65...QQcmdZViewItem ....or would anyone have any other suggestions as far as good speaker covers. Thanks all.

THANK YOU! I did this for the front and rear bulkhead, looking to do the sub cover next!

Sounds much better. Pardon the dirt, it's spring time...

how much does this actually improve the sound...I'm looking at door pods, and I'm sure the sound is better on the pods, but if the difference between getting pods and going this route is not too much...I'd rather save a few bucks...kinda poor

That was an outstanding post. I started out by trying to drill out all the little holes with a 1/16" drill bit. Damn near lost my mind. About halfway through it, I saw your post and finished it the right way. I went to a stereo speaker repair shop and purchased speaker cover for mine. This was just too easy to not do. And yes, it does improve the sound of an already crappy stereo system.
