Need help, battery won’t hold charge
I’ve just got a 2003 Z this week, put crazy hours into it to get it inspection ready.
-new battery diy
-new alternator diy
-new clutch slave/bleed diy
-new tires diy
-front bumper lights installed diy
-oil change as well as new gasket on oil pan, new oil sensor(leaking fixed)
anyways, I’m wondering how many connections the alternator should have. the guy who has the car before me replaced the engine, and the alternator was not routed correctly; instead it was routed straight back to the starter, skipping the alternator all together. I had both the battery and alternator tested at autozone and both had hard fails.
When i replaced the alternator, i didn’t realize the cable wasn’t there,i thought it was weird, but the battery cable was not “there”, this is my first Z. So all i plugged in was the boot connector, and tightened it all back together. Noticed it wasn’t holding charge, so i thought, there’s gotta be a battery cable, found it re-routed it and connected it, and it still won’t charge.
is it possible that i burnt out the alternator? Or are there more connections to it than the plastic boot connecter, and battery?
If it’s a fuse, with one? And where? Thanks guys!

I pulled the positive battery cable out, and tested both the alternator connection and they started connection, and they are both great, don’t know what the problem is here, unless the alternator is bad.
If i was looking for a fuse where would it be on 2003?
i have checked the fusible link also
