Default NAVI Connector

Quick Question.

If you bought a Z without the navigation system does the Z still come with the harness for the nav system or is it installed when the option is chosen.

The reason I ask is that I have purchased a Z without the sat nav and wish to put one in (a aftermarket unit). When checking the manual it would make my life easy if the wiring loom is already in the car, so I can just tap the required wires from the loose plug.

I believe the plug for the sat nav is B104. Otherwise I will need to tap to other locations ie: Unified Meter and A/C amp Connector which does not give me everything I need.

It will only give me the VSS, Power, Ground, and Ignition. It does not give me Reverse or Illuminiation. I probally can get illumination from the head unit. Any ideas or help appreciated

(PS I wrote this based on the US model)

Default Nav

I struggled to work out the pricing on the system you got. Which one was it, where did you get it from and how much it? If you don't mind me asking?

Also, where in the car do all the components go?

Thanks

Will you guys seriously use this?

I've driven a Z with a NAV and to be honest, it was really annoying.

I'd much rather put a screen in and use DVD for music videos etc, but the laws in NSW (maybe all of Australia) don't allow DVDs to be viewable by the driver. No screen for me.

Okay now tell us how much??

I do agree with you in general that the NAV would be a waste of time. BUT since I travel quite a bit from site to site I will find it worth while.

The unit RRP in Sydney is about $4k from memory. I paid $1900

Here is a LINK which I found with a quick search on google

fastmanoz, the very first thing ill b doing is fitting a screen for dvd movies, etc. In fact im currently in the process of buying all my audio gear online. Ive already scored a 6.5" Alpine screen, Sony double din deck and Clarion DVD player for less than 50% of Aus retail prices.

Dont let the Aus laws put u off installing a screen for dvd movies/tv. Any installer will be happy to accept a $100 note in a handshake to bypass the wiring to the handbrake lever, and let u enjoy Neighbours at 100km/h

Of course when u get pulled over for doing 101 in a 100 zone, shut the little nav door to keep prying eyes away .....not to mention the 16 year olds who carry screwdrivers in their Kappa jacket pockets.

Okay just to let you know the wire for the VSS signal is the same as the US manual except instead of being white it is Brown/White.
