Question Aussie $0.20 Bose fix?

I had a spare 10min today (where did the long weekend go?) so thought I'd install the resistor fix as per Insaneamine instructions but it seems our kick panel and steering column cover are different. eg the bottom of my steering cover has numerous holes but not a single screw.

Just wondering if anyone has removed theirs and wouldn't mind posting some tips/instructions on getting to the mic connection.

The steering column does have screws in it. From memory it has four screws quite deep in the holes.

Some of the holes do not have screws in it

Hope this helps

That's interesting, mine is defintely different than that. I should take a photo. I was upside down with a torch, there are no screws in any of the holes, you could see through all of them.

You sure it is a 350z

I believe yours is a 03/03 build like mine so it should be the same.

PS: Can you put the resister close to the AMP instead ?

I'll have to have another look when I get some time. The best part of doing it at the mic is you can insert the resistor in the plug so it's easily reversible. Don't know if that's possible at the other end.

BTW anyone who isn't happy with the Bose should contact them via the US website. Use the feedback form and tell them what you think. The more people who complain the quicker they may actually get a fix out.

Hey Guys,

Seeing as though I couldnt make it down to Sydney today I had a spare half hour to finally sort the mic out.

There are four screws and the two back ones are very deep so you will need a long screw driver.

When your upside down looking at the underside of the steering, the screws are in the four outer holes, two at the front and two at the back.

I also took off the kick panel, but, I dont really think you need to?

I put the resistor in and now it doesnt seem to change volumn all the time but ive only been in the car for 10 mins.
