Other Z owners. Especially if they are red ones.

Congrats also.

Harry you know I'm kidding.

It's just jealousy since nearly everyone owns a silver one

Default LOOK-OUT !

Yeah - get a weel alignment early in the piece
so's when you get tyre feathering they (Nisshit) can't say
that "out of alignment" has caused it.
Everywhere else in the worldt's an acknowledged
problem - but Nisshit "never heard of it" here.

Problems......

Radio - sounds like a $50 radio
Paint chips just driving around town...can't even consider going country
Tyre feathering - big problem in the USA - too early here
Seats - tend to hurt your back on a long drive

BUT.....the Z drives like hell and you get a million looks...so balance it up (but we still shouldn't have problems on a $70K car)

MELB350Z

Congrats, welcome aboard what colour did you order or get. Daytona Blue is by far the best plus it's faster than those pesky red ones, no offence Harry but it's true. I can honestly say I've had no trouble with my DB Track just coming up to 15000K it's due for some more lovely Mobil 1, tyre feathering problem - none to date, Bose system - CD's are good, radio is very average but it is addequate for a sports car after all it's not a mobile disco, it does me just fine. The biggest problem with the car is Nissan Australia & it's Dealerships/Service department they are so far behind in customer care & service it's not funny in my option only the best dealerships that meet the requirements in product expertise & facilities should be allowed to sell and handle the Z just like the HSV/HRT setup.
Anyway enought of that is a great car with lots of extra candy becoming available to dress it up or make it quicker, it's a fun car.

Best of luck with it.

David.

Thanks for the tips everyone, i'll look out for the tyre feathering...

ZZZ-35, i bought a silver one with tint and matts for $65k on road. Which i thought was a good deal, my 2nd colour choice was the blue. I went for the silver because having owned a silver car before i knew how easy it is to keep 'clean' and swirl marks and scratches are harder to see.

I've read about the 'problems' people have been having with the sound system but even the Bose sound system in my mates Audi TT sounded pretty average so i wasn't fussed.

In anycase, i can't wait to drive it, my test drive was last week and i can't remember how the car drove so i'm looking forward to driving it around.

Hey Melb350Z,

Congrats with the purchase. Can I ask which dealership you brought it from? 65k is a damn good deal for a track.

I'm shopping around in Sydney at the moment. Care to share your experience?

Cheers

Default TRACK PRICING

Note recent price reduction $3K - slow moving and
to compete with Rx8 pricing.

3fifty I got it from Nissan Bundoora, initially i signed up for their demo car at just under $64k onroad subject to finance. I signed up for that one initially because no one would budge on a new Touring, cheapest i was able to find was $61,500 onroad.

Anyway, as the story goes once i signed up for the demo, my mate went to Nissan Essendon after work to check out the convertible. He told the sales guy there, that i had bought one and asked how much he could do a new Touring onroad for (as that's what i initially wanted), the guy said $58k onroad. So my mate then asked about a Track, which he said about $64k to $65k onroad. The guy at Essendon then told my mate to tell me if i was interested.

Next day my mate comes into work and says that i can get a new Track for a bit more then what i got the demo for, i ask him to double check that the price quoted was onroad cos no one would budge on $61,500 onroad for a Touring. My mate gets back to me and says, definitely Track onroad for $64k.

Anyway, so obviously i'm pissed that i got a demo for the price of a new one so i head into Nissan Bundoora the next day with two of my mates. I said that i was happy to buy the car through their dealership but i wasn't happy with the situation. After a little backwards and forwards the manager there said he'd do a new Track for $65k onroad with tint and mats not the $64k price Essendon quoted. I was happy with that so we resigned the papers and tore the other contract in half, that's that!

Apparently $64k is invoice price for them... how much of that is true, i don't know. Hope you get a good price around Sydney, good luck!

Thanks for the great feedback Melb350z!

I will now use the Touring price as a reference point. However, if I have no success in Sydney. I may find my way down to Mexico for a better deal.

Cheers mate.

3fifty, when I ordered mine in May Nissan were still insisting on the no discount policy, and I went to about 5 Sydney dealers and no one move on the list price.

The lease company we use at work then put me onto the Nissan dealer in Geelong who was prepared to offer a discount of about $3k back then, and arrange to ship it to Sydney for a few hundred $$. I ended up getting a better deal through my Brisbane dealer, but it upset a lot of Sydney dealers and might be worth calling the dealer in Geelong to see if they are still as competitive ... if you extend your search into Vic.

I picked up my 350Z Track yesterday, it's fantastic... love it! It has a great deal more power then my modified 1.8 turbo Golf and the power is instant, i never realised my car's turbo lag was that obvious. I'm taking it easy driving it for now, so to get use to the power and RWD.

Also having fun surprising all my mates, who i didn't tell i was buying the car... you can imagine their surprise when i say "Where's my car gone? Fark it, i'll just take this one..." and open the door to the 350Z and jump in :-)
