GTP 350Z at Oran Park
Looks like Nathan will have his work cut out for him on the race day as the car qualified mid-field and 2secs off the pace.

Looks like Oran Park suits the Evo's. They total 8 in the top 12 places and the worst Evo was 12th - that's bloody impressive.
Hopefully Nathan can mix it up with the faster cars tomorrow.

17th in race 2 and 16th in race 3.
I'm not a big fan of parity adjustments but perhaps given the almost total dominance by the EVOs perhaps some adjustments are in order. I like the series due to the diversity and it's a bit boring when most of the top half of the field (and most of the top 10 for that matter) are the same car.

I'm not big on 'parity adjustements' myself, and I would rather wait at least another round before even thinking about it. It looked like the cars were well matched in Adelaide, so maybe it's just that the EVOs are very suited to Oran Park. There could be some tracks (ie. Phillip Island or Eastern Creek etc) that will not suit them, but the other cars. That's why I'd rather see them unchanged for at least 3 rounds and see how 'balanced' the cars are.
I am not a big fan of changes to partity based on the oucome of one (or each) round. Afterall, all you're doing is 'paritizing' the cars for the track/round that just finsihed and possibly making things worse for the next round.
In a way I'd rather let them round for the whole season, and only them make changes on the basis of the results for all the rounds in the whole season. For the 'round to round' adjustements they have the weight-penalties for the winners.

It may be too early for parity adjustments but maybe not. Remember the AWD turbos were fairly dominant last season as well.

Only slightly, a 3.2 AWD V6 in a sub 1500kg body was always going to be competitive. IIRC they had help from VW in Germany as well.
I think it's running 200kg ligheter than that, and has extra ~50kW so it's a good package there.

Yes, they are always dominant in the short races due to their 4WD launch advantage. They can usually get to the front by the end of the main straight from the 3rd row. After that the other cars have only 12 laps or so to catch and pass them.
Still, the 4WDs qualified at the front this time ... maybe they are too quick. Still I'd rather see stability and rational changes.

Re parity remember there's only 8 rounds in the series with 2 already gone. Maybe it's not to early for an adjustment when you look at it like that. All academic really as it's not our call and Procar doesn't listen to it's fan and supporters.
I'll be very surprised if at the end of the series the top 3 aren't AWD turbos.

Me too ... I would put money on it. Though, I would still prefer stability over quick/irrational parity adjustements.

Also it has alot alot alot of EVO VIII too. They must have a lot of money to import those in.
It's got probably more to with the EVO being the car that is most suited to winning in GTP. Winnng usually mean more money so it pays to have the car that will allow you to do that most likely.

Just spoke to Peter (he's installing the flywheel), they had engine management problems and were running very lean mid range. Apparently he just didn't have the power that was in the car last race.
Most likely due to heat and very borderline tuning from XEDE.
He seems destined to go MOTEC! ...Problem is what works in a street car doesn't always work in a race application.
Good luck pete and Nathan. Once you get it sorted you'll be up there in the top 5.
