Brake Noise
Got 500 km's on my baby but am noticing what I would consider a worn brake noise (high pitch noise) when I am moving very slowly and lightly touching the brakes. (usually the last meter when stopping at lights etc)
Is this normal with the 350z Track brakes?
Tks

at 14k miles the dealer replaced my front rotors and pads because he thought they were squaking....turns out that thet were ALL squeaking...now I am fighting with them to replace the rear...if they don't do it for free, I am going to have to do something, the squaking is so loud now it turns heads...
Normally if you put the hard racing pad, It will squeaking when the brake cold, Once it warm up, it should gone. but normally the pad also need about 1000kms to pad in properly, and the sound should gone. If you put the EBC (green or red stuff) or Endness pad, they squeaking like crazy Mickie !!!
They'll squeak/squeal if they're not bedded properly. I did my usual bedding procedure when I first got the car but they still squealed occasionally and I just put it down to the type of pad.
After a track day however where they took a hiding they never made another sound so I guess these big brakes require a harder bedding in process than I gave them initially.

I don't know how scientific the following is, but it has stood me in good stead over many vehicles -
During the first 500k I gradually increase the braking energies/heat generation factor by running in third with the brake moderately hard-on - for a short time early in the new car's 500k and harder and longer as the mileage builds.
By 500k I have held the brake to the start of fade.
NEVER EVER has squealing probs - even in the M5 which were notorious for squealing with their hard competition pads.

Dunno about your technique Foststar but you definitly need to "USE" the brakes if you have the Brembo kit.
A couple trips to the local race track will fix any squeal.
And as for that go slow "break-in period", i say don't listen. It's rubbish imho. Just treat the car like a sports car from day 1 or you'll end up not liking what you end up with.

Also, Ive never had any trouble with my Brakes squeaking.
Drive it like you stole it and the brakes dont make much noise!
As always
