This seems very odd to me. Is this picture looking to the rear from the right or left hand side. I still can't determine why it would have cracked the sheetmetal attaching the bumperbracket to the unibody. Intuition says that if that was happening it would have started to pull up on the whole support considering the load from the bumper to the unibody. If that would have happened you would see at least some more crackin or bending on the other side of the unibody support/frame. It just doesn't make any sense. Your crack looks like it came from a lateral force on the bumper and not from a force that is being applied perpendicular to the bumper.

Can your hitch be used with the ball as a receiver hitch. If so, is it 1 1/4" with a cross drilled hole to accept a receiver pin?

I am wanting to attach a 1 1/4" receiver mount bicycle rack to my Z.

Also, do you have plans to produce in larger volumes at lower cost in the near future?

Will this hitch fit a roadster? I found a hitch commercially available that will fit coupes only....however, I like your hidden design better but need to be sure it will work with the conv. Do you know what the differences would be in the fit of the two models and will your work with the roadster?

Does anyone have a picture of the "Uhaul" or "Curt" hitch installed on a roadster?

Curt appears to have an interesting design, but not sure if it meets the capacity specs called out. Link below show hitch and installation approach. For some reason, it may not fit a roadster.

Not sure why you find this odd. The weakpoint on my car happened to be the sheetmetal seam at the car, not the point that everyone with this hitch, including myself had welded.

Nope, just trying to let people know what can potentially happen after towing a lot of miles.

Are you saying that the U-Haul and Curt design are the same?

When you look at the Uhaul hitch on the Uhaul website, it appears to be a very wide hitch that attaches to the frame rails near the pipes.

By comparision, I have a link to the Curt hitch above.

Maybe the Uhaul image is a "typical" hitch rather than the "Z" specific offering?

Can you clarify please?

From the pics, they both seem to attach only to the bumper support. My custom hitch attaches to the bumper support AND the frame of the car.
I know this because I was forced to remove it last week when I put my stock exhaust back on. I'm bringing my car closer to stock so I can run in different class next year. Unfortunately, I sold my borla exhaust before realizing that my new $1000 custom hitch does not fit with the stock exhaust.
Here's a pic of my new garage paper weight. Notice how it has legs that attach to the frame.

I too would be interested in a hitch for a 2006 Infiniti G35 Coupe. I would like the heavy load capacity one, and would be willing to pay your required price if it avoids cutting the rear fascia. Let me know please...Thank you!

I'm in the process of working with a business contact (builds lot of cool custom stuff for the Cdn military) to fabricate a 'tire tail' for the 350z.

I'll update as soon as I have more info.

ETA is for this spring so it shouldn't take long if we go ahead.

I, for one, would be very interested in hearing how that comes out. I need a good way to get my r-comps to the track, now that I've made the leap. I'm going to try for some further-off track days this year, and definitely won't want to put the highway miles/heat cycles on my track tires.
