need help finding a track
you know, it just dawned on me that I am really sick and tired of crappy 1/8 mile drag strips. I find myself going less and less. What I really want is a track, a real track, be it oval or a little 3 or 4 turn track, SOMETHING other than driving my car in a straight line. Not that there is anything wrong with dragging, I am just bored with it. Now, taking into account where I live (see right), hickville USA does not want anything to do with a oval or any other track that does not have Dale jr. going around it. Does anyone have any clue where a good track to run around would be near where I live? Ohio, Virginia, Kentucky, NC, SC. Since I am used to driving a few hours to get anywhere in order to do something other than ride tractors and dip snuff, a little bit of a drive doesnt bother me.
thanks all.
thanks all.

Thanks man. I saw most of those tracks when I was doing some google searching, but was unsure if they had open to the public test and tune times. Ill give most everyone on that list a call today.

Also, Summit Point has a FATT (Friday Afternoon at The Track) program that's supposed to be quite fun! Having started my driving career there, I can highly recommend The Point as a good track to start at. Plus, it's in your state- Good luck!
All of the tracks John mentioned, except Rockingham and CMP, are between 230 and 270 miles from you. You're not really close to anything, but you're right in the middle of a bunch of tracks.
Rockingham and CMP are both about 330 miles from you.
You can use this Web site to find more tracks and the Web sites of the ones we've mentioned: ChasinRacin.com.

Also, check out your local SCCA region. Although it isn't flat out speed, Solo II can be a lot of fun! (how many of you can say that you spun your car at 25 MPH -- and weren't on the gas or the brake at the time?
