Default Angled wear of brake pads

Has anyone else noticed that the stock OEM brakes (non Brembo) wear the pads at an angle? I have seen this on all four after a few track days. For example the Driver side outer pad was worn thinner on the front of the pad while the inner pad was worn thinner on the rear of the pad. Is this common for these brakes or do I have a binding piston in my caliper that is causing this? Is this more pronounced with heavy use/track driving or will it be seen on both dedicated street and track pads. I am now changing the pads once I get to the track.

Also, if it turns out to be common and more of a design issue with this floating caliper, do you rotate the pads around to get better wear ( as long as they are not too worn).

Thanks

When I had the stock brakes and after a day at Sebring the pads were not just at an angle they were almost in a u shape, mainly the inside ones, it was due to the heat causing the pads to distort based on the pressure applied, the inside ones were in a ushape due to the piston applying pressure in the middle of the pad. So it might be that causing your uneven wear from track days.

Same here, after one day at a brake intensive road course the front brakes were bent in a u-shape.

This was when I threw in the towel for the stock brakes and bought a BBK.

It was with Carbotech XP8s, a mid-level pad. It did not break anything, and I had severe brake fluid fade at the time as well. I ignored the fluid fade as I always got that and the end result was overheated and bent pads.

Default I had the touring set up

I had the same problem and had to upgrade to Wilwood system two years ago. The base system is just not safe for track days. As the person improves he breaks later and harder and up goes the heat. I would go through a set of brakes in one day.

I use 350zbrakes design with 6 pot front and 4 pot rears. Really reliable in all temperatures. fluid is ATE blue. Great combination.

Any BBK is good just my experience.

Be careful with that stock system at the track.

Don't get nervous, it depends on a few factors, if it is your first time out then you will probably not be as hard on brakes and also it depends on the type of track if it is a fast track with hard turns brakes will be used quickly, mine were at Sebring where you can go in excess of 125 MPH in 3 stretches just to brake hard at the end.

This will be my 5th track day but the first time at Gingerman in Michigan. I'm not worried, just being expressive... I know that maybe next year I'll start getting the brakes too hot. I'm just not there yet. I did cut out the dust shields in the rear for this next track day.

I'm sure the same people that are reading this thread are also interested in the Raybestos pads thread, but just in case.
I did get the banana shaped pads this weekend! I posted details of how the weekend went on the following thread if you are interested:
