Track pads database?
I have a quick questions guys.
I'm looking for a pad that i can use on a daily basis ( however i do drive my car "spirited") and can take a good beating at group track days (i attend one maybe 3 times a year). From what I'm reading, it seems like the DS3000/2500 are a good choice or the betamotorsports CR6 pads. anyone else have suggestions?
I used to run HP+ pads but they destroyed my old rotors and now that i have DBA 4000XS rotors id rather not destroy them so i went with Hps pads but they fade way to quickly.
thank you

I have used EBC Yellowstuff pads as dual purpose pads. On track they do not have nearly the grab of something like Carbotech XP-10s but they handle the heat fine (no fade). On the street I could not tell any difference from basic street pads even when the ambient temp was in the 20's. They are also relatively cheap.

A lot of the Dallas locals have EBC yellows and they seem to like it.
I personally run HP Pluses.

Yep, both daily and track. I'm on my 3rd set of pads and 2nd set of rotors (1st set got warped). I guess I could measure the thickness but it looks fine for now.

If you put enough tire/pad into it they will pop.
I'd get a separate set of cheaper rotors and better pads for the track.

I recently tried Carbotech XP-12s up front and XP-10s in the back. (07 Enthusiast with OEM non-Brembos, Hankook RS-3 tires). The grip and initial bite were amazing. At VIR this combo was just about perfect. At Carolinas Motorsport Park initial performance was just as good as VIR but after a very short time the pads began to deposit material on the rotors and I started getting a lot of vibration. CMP is a shorter track with hard braking zones and not much cool off time and while braking performance was great, this combo did not hold up to the cumulative heat. Wear was also really bad.
I think for a track like CMP the XP-10s are about right.
Also, in another post someone mentioned that the conventional wisdom of staggering pads front to rear is probably not necessary on our cars as front bias is already pretty high. Lower friction pads could be functionally pushing the bias even more towards the front which could be part of my heat issues In future I will use same pad up front as in the rear.
Recently upgraded to a used set of OEM Brembos. Looking forward to trying different pads since there are more options for the Brembos. Going to try Porterfield R-4s first. A friend of mine gets good performance and much better wear than with Carbotechs.

What are you track guys running at in 2016? I have hall hp+ that came with my Akebono.....they work and don't fade but they really have no bite at all on track. I feel like just have to brake super early compared to other people
I was thinking the Project Mu Club racers but everyone on here seems to like Carbo tech pads. I want to run one of the most aggressive pads that can driven on the street. Maybe the 24 series Carbo? Noise and dust is something I'll obviously have and whatever
The problem I see with a pad that is not good for the street is a pad that needs a warm up time and needs to stay warm to work. Cause I drive the car a couple times a month know the street so I'd love to be able to stop in a hurry if needed
Any info from the pros?

Yep,
Swap pads the night before an event. Hybrid pads always have compromises, and multiple sets actually save you money. Nice thing about the Nissan Calipers is a swap only takes about 5 minutes per wheel (not including taking the tire off).

I've been looking at that too. I've never done pads like that so I was wondering how you puss in the pistons to put new pads?
So okay if I'm going to run track only pads what do you guys suggest? I only track for fun at HPDE. Nothing hard core but the only reason I bought the car is to track it. Moral of the story is I'm only racing myself
I run square 285s on a 10.5 my next set of wheels and tires (hopefully will be soon) is going to be some 275 (don't make 285s) RE-71R tires so I know I'll have the tire for a good pad
