Video/data recording of my solo2 run
I few guys called RaceDV were looking for volunteers at our Ontario Regional event to get a few runs recorded.
I offered to let them hook up my 350z to get a run recorded.
It was a pretty extensive setup with a couple of cameras, a mic (not working), OBD2 hook-up, GPS tracking, and dual axis accelerometer. All of it went to a small computer bolted into my spare wheel well.

That's a really cool setup, like the split screen and the working real time dual axis accelerometer. If you make any more please do post them, very interesting.
Can't detect much body lean in the video. Were you on your new 500/427 spring setup or the Nismo T2 setup?

I've suggested to RaceDV that they replace the dual axis display with a friction circle instead. It would be nice to see if I'm maximizing the transitions between the two axis. It's also a nice way to view a summary of the complete run.
That recording was taken on my first event/3rd run with the NISMO T2 springs. In the first 10 seconds of the side/right video you can see my steering corrections as I'm still adjusting to the turn-in/balance characteristics of the stiffer bias rear. Hotchkis sway setting was soft front and soft rear. With that setup I felt there was too much oversteer to really attack the slalom, although steady state balance was nice.
Since it was a back-to-back event, that night I replaced the rear Hotchkis sway with the OEM bar. We ran the same course backwards the next day and the transitional balance was much better. I was 2nd place off FTD both days, but went from .9 back of the leader on day one to .3 back from the same guy on day 2 - purely due to the rear sway change.
As for the 500/427 setup, I've had a chance to run it at the new Calabogie track a couple of weeks ago. The car ride height was still too high (have to lower the Koni circlip spring perch mount) so I lost some camber. Sways were Med front and rear. The balance was just a little too much understeer although I was running my Azenis RT-615 and not the V710s which can typically hide lots of that. Next season I'm going to try full stiff for the rear sway and I think that should make a really nice setup. The 500/427 rides nice on the street (good enough to keep it on for the winter). I think it will be a great all-round setup for street/track performance.
