Default Season-ender at ThunderHill Sun Dec 10

Right on the heels of our successful Laguna Seca event this past Thursday, we now have an opportunity to host a Leadfoot Adventures track day at ThunderHill on Sunday December 10th. It might be the last decent chance to get some track time in before the holidays take up space in our heads and wallets!

The cost will be about $220 including breakfast, lunch, and novice instruction. As at all Leadfoot events, there will be 3 or 4 run groups based on how many drivers of the various skill/experience levels sign up. Either way you can expect to get about 2 hours of track time.

If you think you can make it please post here or shoot me a pm or email. We’re trying to get a headcount because we only have a few days to let the track know if it’s on. I’m crossing my fingers that it’ll be a go because T-Hill is one awesome track!

Trackmasters-Racing picked up the day, and is running. It is one heck of a long haul up there. I will be pulling a trailer up on Saturday the 9th from Pasadena. If anybody else in SoCal is going, send me a PM and let's caravan. (It is 480 miles from my house, so having some other lads to share the road with you on I-5 is a a good thing).

Yep...the track gave Team Racing a huge discount for the following day which prevented us from being able to compete without losing ALOT of money. They wouldn't give us the discount. Then when they re-rented to Trackmasters, they gave them the same discount!! It really pissed us off how they treated us.

that is a terrible way to be treated. I am very sorry to hear that. Did you give them a call and politely express your disappointment? (You can't really get mad because they do after all hold the golden key to access to a track that you want to be able to run!)

First, we were polite, Then when the track charged our credit card for the deposit 3 days early, they almost forced us to take the date or forfeit the deposit if they couldn't re-rent the track. We weren't polite at that point.

It sounds like they were playing two or more clubs off against each other for the date simultaneously.

The funny thing is that in the end, the track got the same amount of money we were willing to pay and they severely ruined a possible really good business relationship because I personally don't want to do an business with them now.

understood.
Hey, it looks like it is going to be pouring rain anyway.
If it goes above 50% rain chance, as the forcast looks now, I may not go anyway. Too long a haul for a rain run.

You might be able to salvage the relationship. Let it sit for awhile and percolate, and think of a classy way to revisit it for another time during the better season. It is a good track and one that many people should want to run. If they diddled around with you, and deliberately did you wrong, that is one thing. If it was inconsiderate or sloppy, and it fell on your foot, then if they are good folks they will make it up to you as good people. If they do not, then decide how you want to deal with in the future.

They may have been overloaded because this was exactly the time leading to the 25 hours of Thunderhill this weekend, and they were probably short staffed, highly stressed and not applying much thought or attention to filling a weekend after their biggest event of the year.
