K:

For our maiden season, MVP Track Time is staying in familair territory, the Midwest. We are looking at expanding east and west over the coming years. There are a number of tracks back east I'd love to run, most notably VIR (the full course) and Watkins Glen.

We hope to see you at the track!

One question I think all commericial track day organizations should post is emergency procedures/protocols. For example, SCCA procedures for HPDE groups call for a minimum number of corner stations manned, tow truck and ambulance on-site and other details in case the $#@! hits the fan.

I checked the MVP website, read the FAQs and the disclaimers, but saw nothing specific on this. Having attended another commercial track day with an organization that shall remain unnamed, there was a serious crash with two people injured during one of my sessions. While they had a wrecker on-site, they had to call '911' to get an ambulance from town to come out. Luckily, the injuries were not life threatening and the delay not critical, but it still begs the question: what is MVP's safety protocol(s) in the event of such an accident?

DKMURA:

I guess it goes without saying we have not only the wrecker crew at all MVP Track Time events but a full safety crew as well including ambulance and EMTs. Utilizing tracks near metropolitan areas also offers the advantage of emergency air lifts if necessary. That being said, your point is well noted!

We've had offs, but (knock on wood) no major incidents because we keep a close eye on participants both as they regsiter (experience and with what car) and as they drive. At Putnam Park three years ago we ejected a driver for ignoring a black flag (second off track excursion that day) and then going off a third time in the same session.

We make it abundantly clear to ALL the drivers that the track steward, track workers, our qualified instructors and myself get the final word.

We are down to the final few spots at our June 4th Autobahn Country Club track day. For details or to register visit www.MVPTrackTime.com. Happy Motoring!

Dk... good point... as far as your experience, I can respect leaving the group un named, but what track was that at, and when did this happen? I find it very hard to believe that any track these days would allow any high-speed activity without an ambulance on site. And anyone doing events at that venue, regardless of organization, should be making sure this is the case.

The track was Big Willow and the year was 2003. The participants were introduced to the track safety crew at the morning driver's meeting, but it didn't become clear that there was no ambulance on site until this massive shunt occurred.

Fluid:

MVP Track Time will be relatively close to you next year for at least one event.

Hi All:

A quick update to let you know we have a few spots open for July 23rd at Putnam Park and a few less spots open for Autobahn Country Club (full track) August 20th. E-mail me for the registration or you can register on line at:

http://www.MVPTrackTime.com/id47.html

At the request of a number of drivers, we are now making lunch available for your guests. So if the spouse, kids or friends are coming to the track with you, they too can enjoy a nice catered lunch. Your lunch, as an MVP Track Time driver, is of course included with registration.

We have some photos on the MVP web site from June 4th at Autobahn (the wettest day in my driving history) and a thorough explanation of helmet ratings compliments of Simpson racing. Remember SA2000 or newer helmets!

July 23rd will be here before we know it. I hope to see all of you at the track. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at (314) 249-3770 or e-mail Feffman@MVPTrackTime.com.

Happy Motoring!
