Default pads with R compound tires

Guys,

im loosing my eye sight looking through so many threads even as far back as 05 lol . but anyways, i have a quick question.. i will be doing a few track days this year on the east coast and i still can't come up with a decent track pads i can use on a 06 G35C non brembo brakes with R compound tires. i've seen a few threads that discussed about pads which is stickied and other floating around .. but would anyone kindly suggest a track pad that i can use with NON BREMBO OEM brakes w/ R compound tires.

thanks in advance ...

I use Raybestos R41 (front) and R43 (rear) brake pads

a few other ppl use them on their Z...they've got great bite (once they're warm) and last!!!! I used them w/ toyo RA-1's.

*I only use these pads for track...sometimes I'll change them the night before and drive to the track w/ them on, but when they're cold, the stopping distance is a little longer.

You'll also find more posts about running stock non-brembos if you search under 'brake failure', 'caliper fire' or 'volcano'.

Seriously though, be very aware of your brake system throughout your sessions since I see that you are running R-comps. The stock system is not up to the task of heavy tracking. I would agree with Peter on pad choice. ST-43's all around would have almost the same temp range as the 41's with less mu. PFC-01's and cobalt's are also popular choices.

I use Carbotech, I have a new set next to me now. If I ever get going this weekend, I will let you know.

I used the Motul before, didnt like them. I ended up going back to the OEM fluid. I figure if i am going boil them, might as well be something cheaper. I am trying Wilwood's fluid this weekend

There are not many choices for the 05 and up G's and 06 and up Z's without Brembo's. Are there any front track pads available yet?

You may also want to check into Ferado's new line. They are establishing themselves in the US, and are one of the main pad brands in F1 for a reason.

To make big money and for the pit babes !

Ferodo is a good brand.

I'd look toward GT classes (FIAGT, BTCC, SPEED Challenge, LeMan GT, etc) for reference to our cars' brakes (ie running iron rotors). Not the carbon-carbon setup found in F1.

ask around more...when I ordered my pads it took a little time b/c they were cut from another car's pads (I think a mustang...something w/ a bigger pad) - the Z didn't have enough demand for them to make a specific pad just for us.

yeah, i've been asking around at some local shops and its bascially coming up with the same hawks, porterfields and Project Mu for an 2006 NON BREMBO brakes

so far the porterfields R4S pads seem to be the only one that take well for light track days. but will these pads hold water when running on R Compound tires ... that is my biggest concern

and if im not mistaken, the 06 G35C came with alittle bigger brakes than the previous years ?
