Default Noob Question - No Flames please!!!

Besides BS, and BSP, what other classes would the 350Z qualify for?

And, would a 350Z be competitive in them?

SM2, and some other M class. Answer is yes, all depends on your skills and how much money you have

The general consensus is that the Z can't be competitive in BSP or SM2 unless you throw a bucket load of money into it.

Check out this recent thread for example... https://my350z.com/forum/autocross-road/271008-bsp-350z-nationally-competitive.html

BS seems to be the main class that the 350Z is competitive for National level events...but locally, it can do decently well in BSP.

*if you're deciding what class to run, IMO BS is the best for a street driven Z...I choose to compete in BSP b/c I had already a good amount of mods done and didn't want to take it all off - at the end of last summer, I started to get serious about autoX and got about 90% of the BSP mods...the Z is tons of fun now, but is drastically different from stock - loud, rough ride, low, handling is twitchier...

That's pretty much true for any car competing at a National level in Street Prepared or Street Modified. Figure $30K over the purchase price of the car to get something that can win a trophy.

Huh, I placed 5th in a stock 03 at the Dixie National Tour this year. I had my new 710s on Rays for the 07 which showed up the week after. That knocked me out of stock. I trophied in BSP with 16 drivers which pleased me.

Funny story. An Evo driver paddocked across from us. While I was changing tires before the Sunday heat he came over and we talked. He said that the Z was a poor BSP car. I had the 2nd fastest time that day in BSP for 5th. He was 7th overall and didn't say a word while we were packing up.

the difference in dirving abilities can make up tons of time...but if both driver's are equal, in BSP the Z will have an extremely hard time.

It would probably also fit into BP, XP, or EM as well.
