Beaver Run
Hines Group Motorsports will be racing the 350Z at Beaver Run next weekend. Beaver Run is located at the 13 mile marker, Beaver Falls, and is about a mile north of the exit. Its and interesting track with low and high speed corners. Stop by and say hello. Bob Hines
We will be there if the car is still running. Same hotel, I think we will arrive thursday evening, probably go to the track first to onload. I'm saving a bed for you. Bob
We qualified second to the track manager who now has one of the team Suburu's. Rob had a code show up and in checking it out we found be broke the end of one of the cams. So we rolled across the start line and got credit for starting the race, packed up and went home. I will know middle of this week if we can make Roebling Road, but i'm pretty sure we will be there.

All the parts are in and its being worked on. I'm pretty sure we will make Roebling Road with no trouble. The current plan is to leave Virginia in the very early am on friday with arrival approximately 10.5 hours later. We have enough tires and the car is basically ready once the cams are in. Just to make sure we are replacing all 4 cams. I am still planning on sharing a room with you and also want you to take some pictures of Rob and I and the car for Enkei. I will call if anything goes wrong with the plan. Bob

I think the track is about 3 years old. They are still making improvements and will shortly add another loop to the track to make it about 2.5 miles from what ive been told. I wont go into the facilities other than to say they are above average. The track it self reminds you a Lime Rock only with more elevation changes. Its very fast for the most part. The start line leads you down a slight decline and turn one is a sharp left with a very short piece of track before you make a medium fast right. Then is up hill and another right turn to a very short straight and another right turn that lead downhill to a very fast left that in a 350Z with good suspension can be taken flat out. That leads to a little longer straight and another right hand turn that needs some work to get it right. Then onto the start-finish straight which is the best place to pass just before turn one if you have the brakes for it.
Amy Ruman Turns :54.953 in a transam corvette, we turned a 1:05.242 in the Z and a good time in a spec Miata is 1:08.5. We really like the track and the people there. The track is about to be extended to something like 2.5 miles by adding on just past turn one and forming a couple of turns up and down hills to re-enter just beyond the second turn. There is a lot of pavement to park on, showers, clean toilets, a large classroom, good viewing areas, some pvt. garages, kart track, autocross area and credit-card gas pumps with 93, 100 and 112 octane gas available at any time. I compare the facilites to just below VIR and way above Lime Rock. Its worth the time it takes to get there and its only a few minutes off the Pa. turnpike.

The track is located just off the Pennsylvania turnpike at mile marker 13. I would say 7 or so hours drive from Cherry Hill, NJ. There is runoff room, very few cars that go off hit any guard rails, even on the high speed corners. You will want to stay at either Cranberry which is about 16 miles east of the track or Newcastle which is north about the same distance. The track is heavily used with all the events they have. Pretty much something every weekend and a lot of fridays too.
