Default Toledo Pro Solo Win for the 350Z

Well got back from the Toledo pro solo at around 1 am this morning.

Lee Piccione took B stock in my 03 track edition by two tenths of a second. I was a very tight battle the whole weekend. And like most pro events it was decided on Sunday morning.

I drove like crap, but for me it is all about the seat time and having a fast driver to learn from. Just call me Mr Redlight. The Z was hooking up so well I could not believe it. No wheel spin, just dump it an bam we were gone. So I was pulled a .498 a .486 and just for fun I left so early I saw thursday all over again (.190). Lee was running 2.0 60 foot times (low .500s) which for a non prepared surface is pretty good. So unlike me he was not loosing a lot of time on the starts. Oh well it was a blast.

Woo Hoo free tires, and Brake pads.

The only bummer on the whole weekend was the poor Mini...

No time to take any pics as it is a pretty fast paced event. The event was in Ohio.

That win is impressive. Now you need to come to Topeka in September.

A little dragstrip and a lot of autocross. Traditional Pro-Solo has the start is side-by-side and controlled by drag strip lights. They try to make the two courses as close to mirror images as possible.

The SCCA is also trying out some other variations on the format this year.

heh, I hate the "drag strip launches" at pro-sols vs normal solo(2) events. I find it distracting and unnerving... maybe that means I'm unskilled, maybe I just don't care about drag starts *shrugs*

CONGRATS - job well done!

Just out of curiosity, what size tire are you running, and why did you choose Hoosier over Kumho? (Not criticizing, just legitimately curious.)

Kirk mentioned the following a little earlier in this thread:

Great win for Lee at the Toledo Pro! Hopefully, he'll be able to give Isley a run for his money at the Finale and Solo Nationals this fall. It's definitely going to come down to consistency - beating Isley on one day is possible, doing it two days in a row is damn near impossible.
