How did your helmet turn out by the way? Is it done?
Here it is:

What you are looking at is the Blue Ring Octopus. Cute little bugger with a very poisonous bite.
Why the octopus? Unmatched grip, smooth movement. Ugly looking. Kinda fits! The last third anyway.

Andy did a fabulous job.

My car is finally ready for me to pick up, and I'm out of town. Available Laguna track date rolls around soon thereafter, and again, I'll be out of town for work. I really do have the shakes...

Then how about Saturday the 1st? The HPDE event is open. Just bring a toy for us to give to the kids the next day. :-)

Excellent. You will own the infield with the handling of that car. The Roval may set the Lotus to wheezing at the top end, but it does that to almost every car at one point or another. Not too many places where the Z06 gets to WOT in top gear and the driver wants more from it!!!!!!

Little car has something to mitigate the wheezing problem...

Hey guys, my car is finally running right (with Mark B.'s hard work), and I will be joining the crowd at Laguna Seca for the time attack (Street class).

Question for you, Ed, and you Mike B.: How are you guys going to keep your cars quiet? No way that my JIC exhaust is quiet enough without the silencer, but the silencer doesn't flow enough air to make full boost on the car. Any suggestions?

Looking forward to seeing you guys again!

I was flagged for sound (Z32TT, not our Z33) with Speedventures earlier this month. The dB limit was 92, and I clocked 96.x. This forced me to either short-shift or lift-throttle between 5 and 6. I tried both, and was more comfortable with taking turn 5 in fourth, then rolling through the throttle rather than scream through at the top of 3rd.

You can also request a sound check so that one of your three strikes don't get used up. Bring your silencer or prepare to make changes like above. 92dB is actually pretty loud...

Good luck.

I had the same result last time up. Got nailed for 96db. Worked a few laps through at under the limit with short shifting and soft roll on of power, but whether it is 530 BB units or the bigger 700BB units....it is over 92. I have a couple of "elbows" that were made for the car (they are supposed to be there, I have not seen them) that we are going to attach to the exhaust and see if that does not buy us four or five db, which is all that we need. If that does not work, we are going to have to choke flow it to quiet it I guess.

UrbanRacer.com has just put up their coverage and pics from this race. Hmmm, that Z in their main banner looks kinda familiar...
