How many TOTAL miles (street + Hwy + track + etc.) are on your cars??
Hey Guys.. just wondering what the mileage on your cars are... and how often are you driving it hard (track, canyons, etc.)?
The reason i ask is because i really want to put some track/performance parts on the car (ie coilovers, sways, BBK) and start doing canyon runs with some track days thrown in as well, but my car already has 47,000 hwy and street miles on it and so im a bit sceptical on putting that much money into a high mileage car and then driving the crap out of it at the track...
Maybe im better off saving my money and then getting a low miles car down the road and starting fresh...
I should add the car is my DD..

70,000 miles on my 03.
I daily it some what and drive it to the track, on track, and then back home about once every two months. Sometimes more. 50k does not seem like a high mileage car to me.
My borthers SE-R has almost 200k and still going strong. Track/driven as well.

your car is nowhere near high miles. Youll be fine with the canyon runs, Id imagine youll be fine on track days also but you never know what can happen on the track when your trying to lower your time just 1 more second. If your thinkin of getting something new and rdy to drop serious coin to make your car that much better why not just get a 500-1k beater JUST IN CASE something goes wrong?

My '03 preorder track model just turned over 64K miles. The first mods I did to the car (Koni 8241, Eibach Prokit, NISMO S-Tune swaybars, BBS RG-Rs) have aged as gracefully as the car has. Besides mountain drives, HPDEs, track days and time trials (both SCCA and NASA), the Z is my primary DD.
As others have said, properly maintained Zs should be strong track cars for years to come. If you pick good quality parts and install them properly, they should also extend the life expectancy of the car. IMHO powertrain mods are where you can impact the durability of the drivetrain. So spend some of your mod budget on your Z and be aware you may have to spend a bit more (wheel bearings, etc.) to keep it running right.

anyways... thanks for the repsonses guys... its all good to hear.. i was getting a bit unmotivated about putting expensive parts on a car that had, what i thought was, alot of miles, but it sounds like the Z will run for a long time, even at the track (with proper care and maintenance of course)
Nissans should be good for 150,000 miles or so before you really have to start thinking about it.
As a comparison, they are STILL racing 510s -- although most now have custom suspensions.

64K miles on mine, daily driver and with spirited romps on back roads
often, 7-800 track miles so far, 20-25 auto-x events, 6-7 drag strip
days with 4-5 passes each. The car has been great, i am religious about
maintenance and try to think out and purchase the best mods i can
afford to build car toward its final goal.
note: brakes and tires and driver training need to be your primary focus.
then upgrade the rest as needed from there.

I bought my first 350Z with 48,000 miles on her. I dogged that b!tch out so much on the street, track, ect. Keep oil in her and inspect her daily. She'll treat you just fine.
